I'm dont know what visa I'm applying for, Need Help!! My wife is from japan and i am in the military, she came to see me in january and decided to get married in the states, she is here on the visa waiver program! She is suppose to leave in april but we have been told since the paperwork is filed she can stay until the process is done! But what visa should i be trying to get, I already sent the I130,I495,I131, the medical paper and the biographical forms all to the chicago office! What should i expect and what visa am i trying to get here!

I'm dont know what visa I'm applying for, Need Help!! She/you are appling to adjust status and get a green card. I think she will end up with a CR-5 visa. Main thing is the [i-551] green card..

Don't let her leave the US until she has the GC in hand!

It is because you don't need a visa. A visa is a document that gives an alien permission to present themselves at a border station to seek permission to enter. If you are already here then you do not need a visa to try and enter again.

What you need is a change or an adjustment of her current entry status.....

So is there a chance that she could get denied? or are the chances for this type of entry usaully denied.

Well i hope i put everything together and it gets approved! thank you for your help do you know how long it takes to get some information back from them or how i can contact them for information!

2-3 weeks for case acknowledgment... 4-6 months (could be longer) for interview
