im brand new to this site. i have been talking to a filipino girl over the internet for about 6 months now. we have talked on the phone and through webcam. i have sent her gifts, money, emails and letters. we are pretty much in love and wanting to get married. and for her to come live with me here in the usa. one of the main requirements in order to get the k-1 visa is that we have meet before in the past two years.

we have not meet each other in person yet. im terrified of flying to go see her. im very scared of airplanes and heights lol. so what is the best way to bring her here to meet for the first time? i was wondering if you guys have had any experience on how to meet the first time here. i figured it would be tough to do because of usa laws. i am willing to meet her here in the usa or mexico or even canada. i will fly her to any of these places and let us meet for the first time. but im not wanting to fly there to the Philippines. so my question is how can we meet for the first time so i wont have to fly to the Philippines. what is the best way to do this and how? what do i need to get here her to visit? once i meet her we can go ahead and get married. thanks so much in advance for you answers and support. godbless.

that is one of the requirements, there is no way around it, if she can fly closer to you and you meet her, that would be fine also, just make sure to take pictures holding a newspaper that shows the date...... if she can't fly out closer to you, then you'll have to fly to her..........

but how does she fly closer to me? i will fly her here that is no problem. but what does she need to come here to the usa just to visit? i heard it is very hard to get a visitors visa here. is it easy to meet in canada or mexico? i will fly her there so we can meet. my question is what is the easiest country to meet for the first time at? and what does she need to come here? money isn't an issue but i don't think she has a passport or anything. so what all will she need just to visit.

She would need to file for a US non-immigrant visitor visa (B2)

I would read this entire page if I were you---and then relay all the info to her as she is the one who needs to apply

http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1262.html

I checked Manila wait times, and they are 15 days to get an interview for visitor visa.

She'll have to have a passport to go anywhere. So first I would suggest that she gets one from her country. I would think that it's probably a lot easier for her to get a visa to go to Canada or Mexico than to obtain a visitors visa to come to the US. Do some research. Go to the embassy pages of Mexico or Canada and see what the requirement are for her to enter those countries. Obviously the easiest thing would be for you to just go there. Go to a doctor and get some anxiety pills or something to help you endure the flight.

Not so easy for her to enter Mexico either(took about 2 minutes to find this information). I would assume Canada would be tougher.

As an American, you don't require a visa to enter the Philippines. You could go tomorrow if you have a passport. Seems a lot easier than trying to get her to the US, Mexico or Canada. She probably wouldn't be successful obtaining a visa for any of those countries if she can't provide proof of financial solvency and strong ties to her country to prove that she will return.

It is very hard for a citizen of the philippines to get a visa , too enter the usa . And visa weiver doesnt apply to the philippines , for 2 reasons (1) philippines does not participate in the visa weiver program . (2) There is too many philippine citizens get visa too enter usa for other reasons , example work in usa . The only option you have as an american citizen , is too just get plane tickets for the philippines and have a USA Passport . And enter the philippines , and you can stay there in the philippines for a maximum of 21 days as long as you have a return ticket or ticket for unward travel to another country . Too meet the requirement of both of you meeting in person in the past two years , im sorry but there is no way around it . Your religous customs i dont think unless your muslim in iraq , and your marriage is planned by your customs , cause your family is from that country . Which means you were naturalized in the usa . I mean unless you can prove that your marriage was planned by your family and her family at the time of your birth and her birth . Then you must meet in person too meet the requirement , its the only thing you can do about it . I know plane can be scary , but you have to remember that its the safest way of travel . There really isnt anything to worry about in flying , the high prices for plane travel is so cause of the upkeep on all the planes .

LOL don't worry I will lend her my magic broom, just kidding...What, you are scared to fly? DOn't worry its not your plane anyway lol. Scared of heights? Thats the time to conquer your fear. But hey aren't you going to ride a plane going to Canada, or MExixo? If you are scared to fly then swim LOL...Just kidding...I know that flying from US to Philippines is a long flight, but hey if you love this person? And you want to be with her? Then nothing can stop you from doing so. As they've said, I will do everything for you lol. If you going to get her a tourist visa, its not that easy especially she is living in Philippines. You can get one if you are lucky. But there's no harm in trying. IF she got a strong ties or valid reason to go back before visa expires like stable job, properties, bank account....And I don't you can be her sponsor because its you're gf, so CO might think that she won't come back something like that...SO goodluck..IF I were you, buy a ticket and get your #### here in Philippines. I am 101% that you will love Philippines
