Hi everyone! My fiance filed our application in the US last January 20 and got our NOA1 January 23. And until now we are waiting for our NOA2. The question is, what can we do to extend our K1 application to until 1 year? Because I am planning to go back to my old job and be flying around europe and middle east. I dont know the exact country where I'll be when the NOA2, NVC processing goes.I am thinking my vacation (if i go back to my job) will be after 1 year).

Is the 4 months extension applicable AFTER receiving NOA2?

How many days is given for us to submit the packet 3?

How about the scheduling for interview? How long after NOA2? (i'm thinking of maxing the days out)

HOw can we move the interview to another consulate? and can we move it to another country?(where i might be going)

Is the 6 months applied to after issuance of the K1 visa?

Thanks so much! I want to be with my fiance but I want to work and help with saving for our future. (It's so difficult to give up this dream job and I need to save some for my parents as well..)

I miss him though..waiting here in the Philippines makes me feel soo frustrated..I check the VJ at least 3 times a day!!!!!

ps. just need to hear this from you guys...when do you think will we get our NOA2? im going bonkers!!! our adjudication dat is June 2 to June 15..but do VJ filers receive their NOA2 prior to their adjudication date?

thanks sooooooo much!!!!!! :star:

You can drag the process out a bit but I wouldn't do things like miss interview deadlines (or any deadlines you may be given) - it's going to take a while any way.

Plus once the visa is issued your fiancé will have 6 months (from the issue date) to execute it and come to the US.

If that helps.

I don't know what your work or visiting plans are in another country, but I think you have to be a resident of whatever country you're going to be interviewed at. So, if you're in London for a month, then Paris for 2 months, I doubt if you could be interviewed at either of those two places because you won't be a resident there. You'd have to fly home to the Philippine's to be interviewed there.

You cannot consulate shop... the consulate with jurisdiction over the fiance(e)'s current legal residence will be where the interview will occur

YMMV

I extended my process by delaying sending in my packet 3 by a few months, then delaying entry to the US until two days before visa expiry. Also, at the interview the officer told me they could delay issuance of the visa until I was ready to move..... I would just need to send them in my passport when I was ready to go. Others have requested a change to their interview date. It's probably best to check idiosyncracies of your specific Embassy/Consulate as policies and procedures can vary from Consulate to Consulate.

I don't understand why you'd have to cancel it. Why can't you continue to work wherever you're going to be working outside of the Philippines and just go back there when you get notice of when your interview is?

Cant' do that because I work as a private duty nurse for a royalty and i'll be given for like another year before vacation to go back home to the philippines for the interview. And we will be in Europe this summer and after which the other nurse will also need to take her vacation (I stay there) so that means i need to wait for her to come back from vacation before I can have mine (she has history of maxing out vacation!)

Krikit, how many months is allowed before you submitted your packet3? HOw about the interview? Can I delay it to a later date? like Next year? wink!

Im just anxious with all the dates and stuff (and also the wedding!!!!)

THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!
