We are expecting my husband's CR1 interview to be scheduled either for April or May, since the case is now completed at NVC. I am aware that my husband will have 6 months to leave after approved by the embassy, but we would like to know if it is possible to extend those 6 months to about 11 months.

It depends on the embassy and your individual case, but most of the time, they will only do this if you have a very good reason (kids who will go with you and you want them to finish the school year, sudden death of close relative you need to settle the estate for etc). You might look inot delaying the interview instead, that would be easier.

I agree with Penguin.

U can buy ur time up to abt 11 months at NVC.

So u could just wait til Nov -Dec of this yr to send all the Documents to NVC.
