Is entering on a return ticket OK?

Hi all.

Just recently received our NOA2.....a long 206 days wait!! But the good news is that we were in and out of the NVC in the space of 4 days(2 of which were the weekend!) I think they feel guilty for making us wait so long:) Anyway looking at tickets and have noticed that a oneway is about double the price of a single? I find that real strange, but Krysti says that's how the States operates. So my question is, do they hassle you if you come in on a return ticket on a K1 visa, when your purpose is to get married and remain there? I know it's probably nothing, but if anything has been learnt throughout this process, it's those small details that can be catostrophic!

On another thought. Does anyone know a real cheap hotel down in London, where I can stay that is real close to the doctors rooms, where I need to go for my medical and for that matter one that is real close to the Embassy too? Any suggestions would be very welcomed!

Many Thanks

Jon

Sorry, realized I made a typo! "Anyway looking at tickets and have noticed that a oneway is about double the price of a single?" Was supposed to read "Anyway looking at tickets and have noticed that a oneway is about double the price of a return?"

Thanks!

Jon

My husband came on a K-1 with a return ticket and it wasn't an issue at all. so much cheaper and it makes no difference at POE!

On the london hotel note, I'm unsure, as I'm the USC.

Congrats on the Noa2!!

as a K-1 you are intending to immigrate... they won't even ask about tickets

not a K-1 general discussion issue but more a "Moving here issue"...

YMMV

Cheap(er) return-ticket used as one-way is a quite time-honoured approach (airlines really don't like it, but how much is their actual loss--$0!), both for US-domestic and international (I actually used such for my first TN-1 entry from Calgary).

Of course it's okay. I was only going to buy a one-way ticket but my mother insisted on the 'safety hatch' of a return just in case things didn't work out for us... of course I didn't need to use it but it made her feel better, and as you say, it was actually CHEAPER than flying one way!
