does anyone know what happens to your k1 documents after you turn them in at the poe? and how are they supposed to join up with your 485 after you file?

goes to perm storage until the next time it is needed... when it is needed they will retrieve it

The docs get sent to USCIS and are placed in file for AOS, USCIS uses information sent in when applying for AOS to matched the files up.

Part of I-94 is attached to the file at POE, you send a copy of I-94 in with I-485 application, the I-94 number, and A# along with copy of I-129F NOA2 letter are used to match the immigrations packet and adjustment of status file.

The answers above are nice, but here's what really happens to our documents... They get used as coasters and seat cushions at the USCIS headquarters. Then when you file for AOS, they put them back into a folder and pray that none were lost in the process. :thumbs: If they lose something, they just blame us and make us get new documents (and pay for them ourselves).
