If you did Part 1,2 & 5 like stated below, then you are on the right track.

Here is the answer about I-693 form for any K-x Visa Holders:

What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder & already had a medical exam overseas?

A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e), or as a

B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3

spouse of a U.S. citizen, and

C. You received a medical examination prior to

admission, then-

a. You are not required to have another medical

examination as long as your Form I-485,

Application to Register Permanent Residence or

Adjust Status, is filed within one year of your

overseas medical examination.

b. You will, however, be required to Part 1,

Information about you, and submit the vaccination

section of Part 2 with your adjustment of status

application. A designated civil surgeon must

complete the vaccination section and Part 5, the

Civil Surgeon's Certification.

We got an RFE a few weeks ago for the same thing. They must have lost the medical. We did the entire medical again.

wow, this really sucks! i'm going to try and find out if our medical was lost or perhaps the uscis adjucator cant follow the 693 instructions.

Unless you want to just pay for a whole new exam, I would write a letter to them explaining that the I-693 was completed by a civil surgeon per I-693 instructions. Explain that your overseas exam was less than 1 year old at the time you applied. I would even print and include a copy of the 693 instruction page and highlight the part that says "...include pages 1,3,5 ONLY...").

It may be that your overseas exam did not include the TB test which started in May 2008. This could be what they want.

i just got off the phone with uscis and spoke with a supervisor. she confirmed that i was correct and stated that perhaps the medical was lost and she will attempt to locate it and then get back with me. at least i have some hope.

Her feable attempt won't help you at all. Unfortunately, you will probably end up having to redo the whole exam (and pay for it). When will CIS be made accountable for their carelessness?

the other thing that irritates me about this is that i attempted to prevent this from happening by getting a copy of the medical exam while in guz and send it with the 693, but the clinic refused to give me a copy saying that guz does not allow this. grrrrr! does anyone know where the i-129f packet with medical goes after it is turned in to the point of entry? i'm guessing mine was sent to my local service center in atlanta, therefore the adjudicator doesnt have the medical forms to review since my case is in california.

i totally agree. it would be so simple to prevent this problem from happening. when you arrive at the poe they could simply give you back your i-129f packet with medical and then you can re-submit it with the 485. that way the 2 apps will be together and not misplaced by ucsis.

just received a useless phone call from uscis and after much prodding i learned that, as we all suspected, our original i-129f packet including medical exam was not merged with the 485 application. uscis doesnt know where it is, but i suspect its still at the nbc in missouri. rather than waste more time with these bozos we will have to get a new exam. grrrr!

Dale,

Let us know how this goes with you two. We had the same experience. At the border, they asked us for our local office, so we said St. Paul. The border officer said, okay we'll send your packet there (with the medical inside). There were no appts. available for Infopass in St. Paul to check if they had it, so we just re-did the exam and tests like I posted. According to the post office records, our new medical was rec. alomst 2 weeks ago at CSC, but the online system still says they are waiting for the RFE...go figure. Ugh. I hope your experience is smoother.
