received a RFE letter from USCIS telling me that I need to send translation of my birth certificate... I submitted the translation documents to Department of Homeland Security (Lee Summit, MO) as mentioned in RFE on 2/15/2009, have not get any respond back from USCIS/Case status online has not been updated. Usually how long it takes for USCIS office to resume the case once they received the RFE? Is there anyway I can check the status other than through the case status online option.

Thanks.

Seem as if they are swamped with cases. Sent my RFE on 2/9/09 and case is still on hold requesting initial evidence. I resent it on 2/27 with delivery confirmation (second evidence was delivered 3/2/09) but no change to status online as yet. Seems as if Missouri is not updating the system. Hope we all get something in the mail soon - not another RFE though

We got an RFE soon after we sent in our case last Nov. It was also from Lee's Summit, MO. (We did the opposite of you- forgot to send the original certifcate. We just sent the tranlated version...nevermind that they already had two copies of it in the file from previous things...)

Our RFE was rec. and processing the day after they got it. So, don't lose hope.

I sent my RFE reply on Feb 18th, and it was delivered on Feb 20th, so far, nothing has changed, my last touch is still on Feb 3rd. I called the USCIS yesterday, the agent told me that if I don't see any update in 30 days, they can put an inquiry for me, so I guess I will just keep waiting.

Love is powerful!
