For I-864 Affadavit of support, Do i need to get that document notarized? I think i have a seen a thread that discussed about this.

2009-04-15 : Case Number Assigned - Received this by speaking to a live operator. NVC automated message was not updated-it said "NO CASE# Assigned"

2009-04-17 : DS-3032 sent (by e-mail)

2009-04-20 : DS-3032 and AOS bill generated

2009-04-20 : DS-3032 sent (by e-mail) again after receiving the email for DS-3032 and AOS bill generated

2009-04-20 : AOS PAID (online)

2009-04-23 : AOS package sent to NVC

2009-04-24 : DS-3032 Choice of Agent accepted - Beneficiary received email - ACCEPTED one was 4/17/2009 email

2009-04-24 : IV Fee bill generated

2009-04-24 : IV bill PAID - showed PAID ON- 04/25/2009 and printed coversheet

2009-04-25 : DS-230 sent to NVC

2009-05-07 : case complete at NVC

2009-05-13 : Forward the case to Embassy in Chennai, India

i-864 form itself doesnt need to be notarized, but if you are usign a joint sponsor then you will have to submit a notarized document stating why you need one.

But other than that, its your w-2, tax returns, your bank statement, your past few paychecks, letter from your work.

I hope I am not missing anything else.

You are not missing anything. I just want to add something. I-864 Cover letter, and I-864 barcoded cover letter. Then, you good to go.

09-15-2009 : Writting test from DVM.

11-03-2009 : Driving Test.

04-26-2011 : Received I-797 NOA with Receipt Number

06-03-2011 : Biometrics Apts @ 11:00 AM

10-11-2011 : Submit more evidence.

Hi. I don't know if the process for the I-864 has changed since we last filled one up back in last year. But you don't need it to be notarized anymore. My parents were so sponsors and thier I-864A didn't need to be notarized too. Make sure the forms you are using are up to date. Good luck and God bless! :star:

I didn't have it notarized, and my case was completed without any issue.

Does not require to notarize affidavit of support form (I-864), not even I-134 form (require in case of K3 along with I-864) as per recent USCIS do not need to listing.

we used a joint sponsor and didn't notarized and it was accepted, we didn't get RFE in I-864A.
