Cham- just adding.. I think 13th is cutting it too close. If the interview is on the 7th, they should issue the visa on either the 8th or the 9th. Add overnight delivery and he shouldn't get it until the 9th or the 10th.. but then the 10th (Friday) is a public holiday as is the 13th (Monday).

Does Kai live in Sydney? I wonder if he can negotiate with them to issue it to him on the 8th and have him go pick it up. Don't know if they do it but it's worth asking.

ps - the 2 working day thing is their usual rule but look at my timeline to see how delayed mine was.. I had a very panicky time waiting for it to arrive!

Susan - thank you for sharing ur story about Georgia. How did she handle the flight? My Lagotto does well in a crate and would probably just sleep the whole way (she sleeps at least 18hrs a day, if not more!).. but I still worry since I'm sure it's a stressful thing.. first time flying for a pet. I would book her on a direct Brisbane to LA flight (about 12hrs). Not sure if we'll get them to fly her onto Portland for us, or if we'll drive/fly down to collect her. but it's still early days and we're still deciding if it is even best to bring her over or not so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much just yet

I know Sucks but IF i have to my boss will give me two days off ( cant really afford to but will cause I want him home)

@ deedertot - I went to a kodak photo shop and requested to get a passport photo done and before I even mentioned anything else he asked, "Is it for a visa or an australian passport?" I told him that it was for a visa for the US and he mentioned that alot of people have come in and asked for a passport photo and have come back due to the incorrect size for the visa photo. Im glad he double checked it with me! I've heard of people away with their passport photo sizes but there are some who have been sent an RFE due to the incorrect measurements. I suggest you have him re-take his picture to be on the safe side and to save time. Goodluck on that!

Hi Everyone, just thought I would introduce myself. I've been lurking on these boards for a while now and have already gotten some helpful info! My name is Dee and I am from the US (Kansas) and my fiance, Sam, is from Australia (VIC). We met back in 2005 and are getting ready to send off our I-129 Packet. I have a feeling I will be on here a lot more often.

Kaffy you are very welcome. If Lagotto does well in a crate that is great because Georgia had never been in a crate and it stressed her out. They are not allowed to have tranquilizers to calm them, so you just pray they cope ok. They will keep her overnight in LA (those are the rules) before they put her on the next flight to where you are. We added up the total time Georgia spent in the crate from Adelaide to Buffalo (including layovers) and it was 36 hours and then to top it off we had a 4.5 hour drive home!!!! Have you spoken with any of the companies yet? They will be able to tell you what the risks are.

I understand why you don't want to get your hopes up. I hope it all works out the way you would like it too.......it was sooooo worth it for me and I was very thankful when she got here safely.

@ Annexo- thanks!! Yeah, I actually thought my ultrasound was yesterday but is in fact on March 30! Im really eager as well, Im not too good with surprises - I couldnt hold off too long to find out

Yesterday I went to make an appointment for my fingerprinting/police certificate so I will be doing this tomorrow (Sunday)...another thing out the way. I also went to my local doctor yesterday and I requested a letter from him stating the dates I received my guardisil shots. I also mentioned that the medical secretary advised that I had to have my diptheria (?) shot as this is not contraindicted...but my doctor said that I shouldnt be getting any shots at all since Im pregnant and suggested I wait until the birth...Im aware that since I dont think Ive had my tetanus shot, I may need a booster shot....the lady also said that some vaccines can be waived until I get to the US...now Im totally confused....Im wondering if ALL vaccine shots can be waived until I get there or???

Arrgh I had a crapy few days ... I was pulling my hair out and making funny faces as I drooled, literall! I got a bad cold ... Im still pretty sick but not as bad as yesterday... finally finished cleaning and packing... Mums picking me up in a bit, Im staying at her house and heading off to the airport at the crack of dawn... I have a 6.30am flight ....

Have a great week guys and Ill see ya'll in a weeks time ... The friend Im staying with has internet soo Ill pop in and see how everyong is going ...Ill be back next Sunday ...

LOL thanks! I always have to make sure...

But like Anne, we got packet 4 via e-mail and they just checked off what we needed which was the passport, the 3kg envelope, and the fee.. that is it...So we are just thinking of creating a folder with all the evidence of relationship including everything we have paid for our May wedding... I don't know if we should take the copies of everything like the medical, and the forms just in case they ask for them again... so we are about a week to go and we just booked the tickets...
