Hello,

Completely new here.

I thumbed through the stickies, didn't really find what I was looking for.

Basially my question is this.

The US gov received and cashed the check for my I-129F on Feb 20th 2009.

It is going through the California Service center.

Their website lists 6 months processing! BUT it seems that many of the date on there are inaccurate (some from 1999?)

What am I looking for here? I want to know what people are seeing for times from US gov reciept till my fiance is able to buy tickets and fly here.

I already have a file number and it was accepted.

I don't forsee any problems, she's well educated, have been to the USA before, travelled abroad a lot without issues.

She is Burmese living in Singapore, and I am a natural US citizen, if that helps anyone.

So I guess I have passed NOA1? and am waiting on NOA2?

Would this be the top graph and orange line on your timeline page? 120'ish days?

Is that when she can fly over?

Any recent examples would be most helpful.

Any advice on how to speed it up would be nice as well, seems expidited processing doesn't apply to fiance visas?

Thank you.

-JP

If you complete your timeline it will give you a better indication on adjudication (NOA2) times.

When you have completed your own timeline you get the option to view similar people from same country etc to get a better idea.

Here is a great resource for you.

Start there.

If you fill in your timeline you will get an estimated adjutication date which is based on VJ users. We are a small representation actual filers but the estimates are usually pretty accurate.

Have a look at the K-1 flowchart so you can familiarize and prepare yourself with the steps to come.

There's much more to it than just filing the petition. Each Embassy/Consulate and each case can be very different.

Welcome to VJ and good luck.

Well as I mentioned I had already read through a lot of the FAQ and Stickies, that's where I figured out what all the acronyms were. Honestly I find the FAQ page extremely confusing. I guess paperwork isn't my forte.

I will try the timeline. I was just looking at a ballpark. I wish her to be here before summer, June'ish which would work out very well for her daughter as well.

Thanks.

If you fill in your timeline, VJ will give you an estimated date of approval based on VJ data and usually pretty accurate.

VJ Timeline will show you the most recent approvals.

You're probably looking at at least 3-4 months from NOA1-NOA2 and then, depending very much on the Embassy you're dealing with, at least a couple more for medical/interview..etc.

Paperwork shall become your forte. The paperwork continues for at least the next 3 years. You have to file innumerable forms, fees, and facts about your present and past locations, employment and education.

If you wish to pay me to do it for you. I would do it for a small fee. One day I want to be a USCIS adjudicator to help speed along the process for those in love.

I wouldn't say "innumerable" forms. Everything you have to fill out and everything you should send with the forms is well documented in the K-1 Guide. All you'd be doing if you hired this person is giving your information to them, and they'd be copying it down.

On the timeline it asks for her country.

She is a Burmese citizen but living and working in Singapore. Should I put where her citizenship is or should I put where her and her family is living?

Thanks,

You should put the country that you will be filing in. If she is living and working in Singapore than I assume that is the consulate that you would want her to go to for an interview? Or the consulate that you already marked down that she would go to for an interview? Even though she is Burmese for this purpose she will be marked down as Singapore since she is going through that consulate.

My K-1 petition was filed for an Australian man but we were living in London at the time. He went to London for his interview and London was marked in my timeline. Australia had NOTHING to do with our petition -minus the fact that his police certificate and birth certificate came from there!

Good luck, hope this helps!
