congrats to all the March filers getting news. This is truly a great board and resource.

I requested my AP to be expedited on Monday, and my status just got updated on the USCIS website today. MY AP has been approved and EAD card production ordered today!

USCIS is really working fast to get our stuff out! Keep it coming! I hope everyone will get news soon.

congrats to all EAD cards approval/production. i wish i'll have mine soon too.

may i know how did u expedite your AP?

You need a valid reason to expedite your AP. I did not requested for an AP expedite, but it's already approved and sent to me last April 27. In my application, i specifically indicated that i will be travelling back to philippines by June 15. I indicated the particular reason why i have to return.

I called yesterday (4/29/09) to try to expedite EAD (the information was passed along because I got a reference number and was told I will hear back within five days). I got an email today saying my approval notice was sent 4/29/09. I am not sure if it was just a coincidence or whether it was a result of the request. I still can't track it online though so i'll just watch for the approval notice in the mail. Goodluck guys.

Filed March 9th. Got notice in the mail yesterday that our interview has been scheduled for June 5th in Santa Ana.

No word on EAD or AP. I hope we get the EAD soon, as the SS office won't let my wife change her name without it and I've been holding off adding her to my bank account, credit cards, etc until her new name is on her SS card. I previously tried to check status online and it wouldn't take any of our case numbers. I'll try again tonight.

You could still add your wife using her maiden name. Most of my papers are still in my maiden name: insurances, bank accounts, credit cards. We could not use my married name since the IDs i have are all in my maiden name.

If i would have my interview ahead of receiving my EAD. I would bring all these papers reflecting my maiden name as evidences of our marriage.

But once i get my EAD, i would my change all my papers to my married name. That would be lots of paperworks. :(

Its probably not that he 'can't' but her maiden name on the bank accounts and credit cards its just that it is a big hassle to put it into her maiden name, and then change it once she gets it changed. That is probably why he is waiting. I know i a doing the same thing with adding my husbands name to my own until summer once i am breaking from college, so i can have all of that stuff changed in college and banks and cards and everything. its just a pain.

I'm now going to rush and get her added using her maiden name. Based on the timelines I wasn't expecting to have the interview until August/September and figured I'd have the EAD in May/June. My lease was set to expire in June, so I was just going to add her when I reupped. Plenty of time to add her with her married name, or so I thought.

I wanted to avoid the hassle of setting everything up, and then having to change everything again a few months later. I've already lost quite a bit of work time taking care of her paperwork and medical (Lots of dental work), and wasn't looking forward to asking for more time off to change her last name on everything (Going to the bank, DMV, etc).

Oh well. Probably one of the only times the USCIS doing something quicker than expected hasn't been met with 100% joy.

I understand where you are coming from. :)

In our case, my hubby just do the initial introduction/activity and i take over from there. It helps keep me busy, and the activities allow me understand the US process.

I called yesterday (4/29/09) to try to expedite EAD (the information was passed along because I got a reference number and was told I will hear back within five days). you actually asked them to have the "EAD" expedited? not the AP?

Our AOS application status is available online now. But there's nothing new cos it says case pending at the office where it was transferred. I hope, it'd help us check updates easily, given that USCIS updates it regularly

Yeah, I mean I just tried that since that was what I was really after, like I said I don't know if it caused it to be expedited but I did get a note saying the approval notice was sent and the date of the notice just happens to be the day I called and I did get a reference number so somebody probably did look into it. It could be that it was already approved but since I could not track it online I can't tell, but the email referenced my call.
