AOS FILERS: MARCH 2009

Do we have a general rule of thumb for how long the AOS takes after being transfered to CSC? I understand that when it's handled locally it depends a LOT on the location and getting an estimate is harder due to the number of different locations (not enough info for each location to be consistant) but when it's transfered to CSC (or VSC I assume for people who filed k1/3 through VSC) we should be able to estimate the time. Anyone know about how long that is? I seem to recall reading something like 5 months, but I'm hoping someone has more specific info.

Does anyone keep track of touches on their AOS applications? I know during the whole K-1 process untilt he NOA2's started to fly around, everyone was watching closely for them, they they happen much or have much meaning during the AOS process? I only just added our casenumber online today and it's showing a last updated date of today as well. It's possible that the reason it's showing an update of today is because this is the first day it was entered in the system or a result of being transfered to CSC. The EAD receipt number isn't working yet. I'm just curious mostly, it's far less stressful having to wait now, than having to wait during the k-1 process.

Update:

received my Biometrics Appointment Letter today for April 24...yahoo!!!

I was nervous when I opened it bcoz I thought it's an RFE bcoz we only submitted 2008 tax return which is married filing jointly..we didnt submitted 3 years for tax coz I thought 2008 tax return will be enough.I hope USCIS will satisfy with the 2008 tax return we submitted.

I only sent out our 2008 tax too. Hopefully, no RFE for us.

I too received my biometrics letter today and I have a similar timeline of submission. My appt is for April 23. They must mail these letters in bulk. :-)

Yippy i recieved my Employment Authorization Card in the mail today, took just a month and a couple of days from filing... waiting for my interview letter or transfer which hasn't come in yet.

We never knew it would be a card as the AP was just a letter like the NOA, was shocked to see the card and it looks all fancy.

It is for me,,, maybe there is something wrong with your computer loading the page. Close the page/tab and then come back to the site, maybe it will be highlightedfor you then.

Someone probably was editing info and hence the share buttom was disabled for me, it seems to have worked and i see it now... sorry for the trouble guys, i can be stupid at times

Thanks for the wishes GueraKristina... i hope so too, i want everyone here to have their GC as quick as possible and we move on to the next stage togather after 2 years, would be fun to see you guys around at the same time

yah it would, can you imagine, us after 2 years,where would we be? what would change? would some be almost done college, MWUA!!!, would some be buying houses together, would others be having their first babies??? one can only imagine right?!

I had the same issue before until I receive transfer notice to csc which indicates information on how I can check my application online. Its really awesome I think after biometrics thats the time they start to update information over the net.

very true... am just waiting for my honeymoon now, once we have the GC we are off to UK for 6 weeks.

I did have a question and was wondering if anyone could help or explain the circumstances i would have to face, I continued working when i moved to the states, I DID NOT HAVE AUTHORIZATION or i did not get any stamp at the POE... my employers wouldnt let me leave them and wanted me to work while i was being paid per US standards... now what about my taxes for the next year ? will the IRS find out ? what will be my next steps ??? and am feeling guilty for what has happened but i dint have the faintest idea about how this would turn out as in India we dont need any authorization to work... I work from home as a web trainer and support for the website used in schools to text message parents.
