Interesting twist. A guy makes money for 20 years "selling" his thoughts on radio for adverting dollars which you find incongruous compared to a President who has done nothing positive (arguably wholly negative) yet gets hero worship treatment with excessive merchandising for spending our taxpayer dollars.

Yeah it is an interesting twist isn't it.

Sort of like trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole. You'll get it in there eventually, but you'll have to use a lot of force, and then the toy is broken...

Obama doesn't spend "Rush's wealth" aside from what Rush pays into the treasury from his State and Federal taxes.

So curiously the first part of your argument doesn't connect with the second.

He doesn't? I thought he had a few books of his own out... To what ALC suggested originally - he doesn't profit from 3rd party products, that they exist is incidental and has nothing directly to do with Obama. If that weren't the case - Obama would be out there promoting his merchandise for a slice of the royalties, the way Rush does.

The difference between Obama and Rush is pretty obvious - both of them use rhetorical arguments in public speech, but Obama is actually in a position of responsibility and accountability. Rush just likes to to talk about it (and profit from doing so).

If Rush had the balls to stand behind his ideology and his rhetoric he'd run for elected office the way Al Franken did.

But no - it isn't clearer. Thanks for trying though...
