Hello. I was wondering WHEN I am supposed to turn in the affadavit of support (I-864). My fiance is Mexican and in the info online from Ciudad Juarez it says he needs to bring the I-864 with him when he goes to interview for his K-1 there, but after reading the directions in the i-864, it seems that I do not need to fill it out and turn it in until AFTER he comes to the US and we get married. It says we need to turn it in when we apply for adjustment of status.

He will be making his appointment to go for his K-1 interview within the next couple of weeks.

So, these two pieces of information are conflicting. If anyone could help me out with this it would be appreciated. I don't know if the embassay at Ciudad Juarez has the info wrong. Thanks.

You don't need it for the Mexico. But sometimes is a good Idea to take it, just in case.... But Optional it's not a requirment. It's differnet for each country.

Usually, the I-134 is the affidavit needed at the stage you're in now. Did it actually specify the I-864?

We met in October 2007 and our immigration journey started in July 2008 when we filed for the I-129F Fiance Visa petition.
