My fiance and I received email notification that our NOA2 was approved on 09/23/2009. The NVC received it on 09/25/2009. The file has not been sent to the embassy as of yet but from advise taken from VJ, I wanted to get my documents together that I will be sending to my fiance. I do earn barely over the poverty line and because of that I was going to add my mother as a co-sponsor just to cover our basis and help to make our case look stronger. From what I have seen, we are looking at the minimum of 60 days, not including additional delays. My concern is if I go ahead and request a letter from my employer, paystubs, etc...and the letter from my bank that the documents will be dated to early. Is that an issue? Should I wait to request these documents after we know that the embassy has received our file, or after he has received package 4? If someone has any advise, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if I do meet the requirements for the I-134 but barely does it matter either way if I have a co-sponsor? I figured it couldn't hurt but I wanted to make sure....

YAY!

I don't think it is too early to collect these things. Our NOA2 was in March and I sent Nik everything in April (so employment letter dated in April) and we had our interview in June. I think they must be able to accept it because in order to send in the checklist, you have to have everything collected already. What I did was send Nik an email of my latest check before the interview to show that I did still have a job.

I also think you should fill out the I134 as though you were going to be the sole sponsor, and only keep your mother's info in reserve if they come back and say it's not good enough. London doesn't seem to be very bothered by cosponsors, so whichever way you decide is no issue.

I134 advice: Tax Transcripts. They are free, and easy, and fewer papers than your whole return. :)

I cant see your dates on your timeline but if you have been waiting 4 weeks you can call the embassy and they should give you a ref number to email them with. You will then be able to request a status update. This is what i did.

I hope this helps although you may have done this already?

Have many of you waited to receive your Packet 3 from the Embassy or did you just send off the needed form which you would get off of a website assuming you have the necessary information for the actual interview? Also, for those that don't live in London, did you try and get the medical the same day as the interview or did you take off work and go get the medical earlier? Thank you for any assistance and I apologize for the strange way these questions are written. :luv:

Only if you have an early morning interview and a late afternoon medical. It's difficult to tell how long you might be at the embassy, then traveling through London etc...

Hi There

You must have the medical before the interview. And i would advise that you try and have the medical at least a week before interview to ensure the Embassy have recieved it. I sceduled mine as soon as i got package 3.

The whole experience was a pleasant one although there was a little bit of waiting. I think some people have medical and interview on the same day but i dont know how this is possible and so stressful and may well delay the issue of your visa.

Hope this helps...if you need any other info - just ask!

I have my interview 2 weeks today....very excited (and stressed now!)

You don't actually have to have the medical before the interview. Several people have successfully had their medical a couple of days after the interview. The only thing is that it delays the process, as they can't approve (print, mail out) your visa without an approved medical. It takes about a week for the medical to make its way from the office to the embassy, so that is the optimum time. For people who are traveling to London from farther away it is more practical to schedule the medical the day before or after the interview. I haven't heard of any issues with this aside from the previously mentioned (slight) delay.

However, if you are in London, I would agree, get the medical done as early as you can - if something comes up and you need to get a Dr's note about anything, you'll have time before the interview and not delay things too much. Or, you can visit your GP before going to London to preempt that by coming with your Dr's notes in hand already!

HI ALL! :)

Can you all please help me with a question on the DS-230... when do we need to fill out Part 2??

Everything I see only mentions returning Part 1, and never any mention of Part 2 whatsoever.

It does say on the form that Part 2 together with Part I constitutes the complete Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration.

Please help! So confusing!!

Thanks in advance :)

Riggs has had the P3 for almost 20 days now. He is still waiting on some information he needs from the council to complete the forms, hasn't even sent off the correct request for his Police Certificate. I guess he sent off the request that cost £10, not the right one that cost £30. He doesn't have a working printer, and this is seriously driving me insane. Every time I talk to him and hear that no progress has been made I feel so frustrated, I'm never in a good mood when we talk anymore... Anyone have any advice for me? I feel like I'm at the breaking point, and my dream of picking him up at the airport is floating farther and farther away from me.
