Here's one more question for today

For the interview portion of things, do both people have to attend the interview? I'm just thinking for costs sake and schedule's sake because I am in Alberta and have to travel to either Vancouver or Montreal, does my fiance have to accompany me? Or is it something I can do by myself?

In Vancouver, my fiance did not have to come with me, but he chose to.

Of all the other couples there for their interviews on the same day as myself, no other people had their fiances there except me. We were all approved.

No, your fiance does not have to be with you for the interview, you can go by yourself and attend the interview alone if you wish.

As much as my sweetie would like to be there, he just can't get the time off work. I'm ok with going by myself. I am having my interview in Montreal, just waiting for packet 4 to arrive now. Good luck!

Nope, he doesn't have to be there. My now husband did come with me though and it was a really nice trip!

For moral support sure,but its not a requirement. Mine wasn't there. If ya read some of the forums from other countries,it is strongly advised that the USA spouse attend, but thats not the case in Vancouver or Montreal. Interview is normally the easiest part of the whole process

Which visa are you applying for, Jennleah? That will dictate which Consulate you go to.

Ur interview will be in Vancouver---which is good--as they are normally faster than Montreal at handing out interviews

I dunno. Montreal while it took longer to schedule, certainly processed my husband's interview in record time, presenting him with his visa the same day to boot. (not to be confused with "a-boot".) They talked about astrophotography. I was not required. It would have only meant more astronomy talk anyway. It was quicker without me almost certainly.

99.9999% of the time Montreal mails out the visa, while with Vancouver they hand it out the next day ( or they can mail it as well)
