NOW MY QUESTION IS . WHEN CAN ONE APPLY FOR CITIZENSHIP AFTER GETTING THE 1-485 APPROVED THROUGH VAWA, IS IT THREE YEARS OR 5 YEARS.

I have some questions.

Did you have your intervie in court or your proceedings ere terminated before the intervie? on the other ords did you adjusted in court?

Next question: your timeline state that you filed I 485 twice. Just ant to know hy you didnot contest your old I 485. You ould have saved fees and paperwork.

Did you filed I 864 also?

My first 485 was denied the officer was so mean that i knew the moment i left that office she was going to denie it. it took them a whole year to send me the denial - reason she didnt think the marriage was real ..., during this time my relationship with my wife was at the lowest which ended in a divorce.

they placed me in removal proceeding immediately after the denial but never send me a date to attend court....

so i never went to court up untill now... thank God.

No i did not send in a any affidavity of support, i send in a waiver instead....

Thank you USrp for your reply. I also have similar situation. MY I 485 was denied and I was put into removal proceedings, I am going to court every time when I have court date. But I contested the same I 485 in court.

I'm waiting for my lawyer to get the letter. I think it was denied because me and my husband didn't have a lot of assets together. All I had was the cable bill. Any advice????? Thank you.

Kymber, you should prepare to appeal your case. This is not final yet. Do you have more evidence, i.e. letter from neighbors, letter from friends, e-mail/messages exchanged during your courtship, more photos of you together etc? Have you shared any assets with your spouse?

Hi Kymber22, It's sad to hear that your case got denied. I guess the next step is to appeal it or re-file.

I hope some members on here will give you a better advice on what to do exactly.

oh god sorry to hear that im relly scard now we send RFE AT THE SAME WEEK and no decsision by law the have to send you NOID (Notices of Intent to Deny )AND gave you one mor chance to sumbit mor evidence so what the reson for the denied

I dont think denial was the result of submittal of only one bill evidence. you should ask your attorney, I guess your letters from friends, relatives did not shown enough spousal betterness. USCIS.

Example: If the all three letter said that your husband was so controlling and you said the same in affidavit then first question comes in officer's mind that why to marry that guy in first place? therefore letter suppose to be from the start of relationship, How was the relationship that leads to marriage, how it was changed, what made it change, etc. One bill or many utilities bill does not change that was not married. the actual proof of battered spouse required. burden of proof is upon alien to prove that he/she is battered.

This is true. They should explain what they are looking for in the NOID. You should look into it to assess your next step.

I think I'm going to appeal. Whenever I get the NOID I will inform u guys what's the reason for denial. Thanks you for all your advice. I'm going through I tough time right now. I been crying from Thursday. I just hope I get through this.
