Hello Friends,

I have received RFE (Request for Evidence) in December 2008 regarding to submit documents for my first marriage (to prove that marriage is bonafide). Requested RFE documents submitted on 01/20/09 to California service center. today I have received letter for standard interview at Newark, NJ.

here is detail information:

Current Status: This case has been sent for a standard interview.

On January 26, 2009, we transferred this case to our NEWARK, NJ location to conduct the interview that is a standard part of processing this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. You will be sent a notice when the interview is scheduled, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case has been sent to our NEWARK, NJ location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Does any one know that how long it will take to schedule standard interview at Newark, NJ District Office.

I would greatly appreciate your help to this matter.

Feb. 21, 2008 -- NOA 1 Received from VSC

Aug. 22, 2008 – Become US citizen, called USCIS to upgrade I-130 from F2A to CR1-IR-1 category

Aug. 23, 2008 – send a letter with copy of certificate of naturalization to upgrade the petition.

Sept. 22, 2008 – Status is upgraded to CR-1/IR-1 category and case is pending.

Nov. 06, 2008 - Transferred to CSC (notified via US Post)

April 02, 2009- NOA2 - approval notice sent

NVC Journey

2009-04-17 : Case Number Assigned - Received this by speaking to a live operator.

2009-04-20 : AOS and IV Fee bills generated and rec'd Invoice id number via e-mail

2009-04-22 : AOS and IV Fee bills status - Paid (online)

yes, I did get my citizenship through my first marriage. my first marriage lasted for 6 years (1999-2005).

I was in USA with immigrant visa in 2003 though.

I-130 Timeline:

then it is just my opinion that they want to clear things out that u did not get married first time just to get here, they just gonna ask you few questions one of my friend had this problem after interview they approved her i 130,

my situation is kind a same as urs but in my case i am us citizen and i filed for my ex-husband,he came here in 2006 marriage last for 5 yrs and got divorce last yr then i remarried and now i am filing for my husband i hope they do not make issue about filing i 130 again.

I remember of a woman whose SO is from Mexico and who filed around the same time as we did for our i-130 and she got the same letter.

She did post an update a few month's back saying she was still waiting for the interview. I am really not sure what happened to her case though. If I can find her name I will let you know and you might contact her. I will do a few searches and let you know.

Please advice.

Be prepared to answer any and all questions about your previous marriage through which your citizenship was acquired as well as any and all questions about the validity of your current marriage. A "standard interview" is not a very common occurance. Generally petitions are approved without an interview. USCIS sees potential for a problem with your status, so be prepared for just about anything.

Guess what? received magic e-mail regarding approval.

Finally I got approval of I-130 after a long wait..

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On April 2, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

no, not at all, they approved I-130 withough having go through for personal interview.
