Hey everyone,

I got married and changed my name a week ago at the Social Security Office thingy, and now want to start with the adjustment of status paperwork. What last name am I supposed to use in the forms? Since mi visa and every K1 document has me going by my birth last name and now I have a new one...will that be a problem? I'm talking about form G 325, for example.

Thank you!

You can use your new married name on the aos forms - now would be the time to do so, so you don't have to change your name on the Green/PR card down the road.

If you want married name on the green-card then USE married name.

There is a line on the I-485 that asks for "Name on I-94" maiden name goes there, also on G-325A, maiden name goes in "Other names used"

To change a name on a green-card after you get it will cost you a FEE to file the I-90 to change name. $370
