Does EVERYONE file the I-131?

Every case I read here, it seems as though everyone files I-131 with their AOS packet. I guess it's because a lot of people are a lot more anxious to visit back home than I am? I wasn't going to bother with it, mainly because we wouldn't be able to afford a trip back to Canada for the foreseeable future, and frankly I can wait until I have a Green Card before I go travelling again. (Honestly? I'm a bit sick of planes, trains, and automobiles right now!)

Has anyone here NOT filed an I-131 with their application? Will they look at me weird if I don't? I know the fee is included, but I just don't see the point. (I asked my little sister -- 15 -- if she missed me. She said "Meh." )

"Your mom is in my head right now, and she's saying don't do that."

"For Sale. One Parachute . Used only once, never been opened. Small stain."

Most people file for it as it gives them peace of mind in case something hapens to a family member and they need to travel back home urgently.

You dont have to file for the I-131 there are a lot of people who dont bother with it. But for most as it is included with the cost of AOS they get it "Just In Case".

I've seen LOTS of people that didn't apply for AP and a short time later were posting on how to get an "emergency AP" :crying: because something not expected popped up back home.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!
