When I sent my DS-230 it arrived on the 20th and was put into the system. They AVR didn't indicate this at all. I spoke to an operator who told me that. Remember the AVR is not always up to date. If I were you I would call and speak to an operator. They can tell you more... if you have proof that your package arrived at NVC chances are it took a day to be input and they are processing it now...

You do have proof from USPS that it arrived at NVC right? And did you put the package ATTN:CMR?

Maybe if you don't hear anything soon - contact a Congressman or Senator and see if they can help you????

Hey, folks, question:

Do they schedule interviews monthly or bi-monthly?

Our AOS and IV packages will arrive at the NVC early March. Does this mean we'll likely get a May intervivew insstead of April?

Guys,

My case was COMPLETED....I could not give the news as I did have the internet connection for last couple of days..yes it was completed on 26th.

Thanks everyone....

Sonia

Sonia,

Congratulations, great news. Good luck with your interview date.

I understood interviews were only scheduled the second week of each month but as we have seen this week that may not always be the case. MMW just finished this week and already has a date for April. I called NVC and I will most likely not get a date until May as the Montreal consulate is fairly busy - so it all depends. Good luck

Thank you, OBX. :) Hope you can get yours very soon! I don't know how busy the embassy here is.

I'm wondering, what is the Packet 3 for? I thought after sending the IV and AOS packages, we won't need to bring anything else except proof of the relationship. I found this online: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/packet3iv.pdf

Is this going to be more paperwork for us once the interview date is set? Why another DS-230 Part I? By the way, we made sure I didnt' sign Part II of my DS-230.

Also, in the medical. How do we prove what vaccinations we've gotten? I mean, don't we get those when we're kids? What if we have no more records or we don't even remember where we got them?

Hi, everyone i hope your cases are flying right along.. i haven't been much on here that last month or so but my case was finally complete in NVC on 02-29-2009.. i had a problem with the form ds230 because they required a different form of Birth Certificate than what i had submitted and it slowed me down a week or so, but its done now and its time to seat and wait..

PS>>>For any Dominicans, you need the INEXTENSA BIRTH CERTIFICATE and INEXTENSA MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE...

I'm not sure about packet 3. I thought that if your consulate was an "Appointment Post" NVC collects all of the documents and schedules the interview so a packet 3 is not required. Could that posting on the website be outdated? Perhaps you could post on a regional forum and see if someone has experience with this. It would be good to know.

As far as the vaccinations are concerned I am in the same boat. I have no documentation of my original shots and when I was young public health was not keeping records. I had my MD do titre tests for all of the vaccinations. I did have a the TDaP booster prior to the bloodwork as well. So I have the actual lab reports stating I am immune. I think that is the best way to go if you have no formal records.

Ao are you sure the Packet 3 you are talking about isn't the one used in the K type visas. The Embassy isn't sending the K people a packet anymore just a letter that tells them what forms to download. We don't need that for a I-130 visa. the only thing you can expect once your case is complete comes from the NVC and that will be your interview letter. From what I have been able to find out about Manila Embassy they may or may not send you an Email with the interview date. I have heard it both ways. But for our type visa we will just go get our medical at least 10 days before the scheduled interview. Make sure you take your passport and another id (postal for example) your 3 passport photos your interview letter with you to the medical and then take all our copies and proofs of relationships plus copies of all your documents to the interview. Do you have your interview package put together yet? My wife posted her interview package on the regional Philippine thread if you want to review it for ideas of what to include. As for the shots for the medical don't worry about it because they will determine what shots you will need and it is included in the cost of the medical. Even if you get a repeat of a shot you had before it won't hurt you.

Always a good idea to check with the panel physicians regarding vaccinations prior to your medical. To the best of my knowledge in Toronto they recommend having all of your vaccinations up to date before the medical. Also, they do not include vaccinations in the cost (if in fact they even do them.)

There may be differences between physicians and countries but better to be prepared than held up by something that could be taken care of ahead of time.

If anyone is interested these are the guidelines we are given for Toronto. http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/Immunizations.htm

Yes OBX that is true in some cases but as for the Philippines and US Embassy Manila, there is not a lot of people here that have shot records maintained like in Canada or the US so SLEC, the ones that do the medical for Philippines just will determine what shots are needed by age and any records that may have been provided by the applicant. Then they will just administer the needed shots and the cost since so many need them are part of the medical fee here.

here it what the Embassy websire for Manila says about the shots

On May 2, 2008, SLMCEC will increase the medical examination fee by U.S. $30.70 to cover the costs of administering the currently available new vaccinations. The new medical exam fees will be U.S. $213.35 for adults (15 years and older) and U.S. $185.35 for children (under 15 years of age).
