Yep, me again. Well, turns out my husband didn't keep a copy of last year's 2007 tax return when he sent it off. He sent off to request a copy, but that's going to take two weeks. However, he does have:

- Letter from his boss/company owner

- All previous years filing (back to 2004)

- Last year's W2s

- Six months worth of paystubs

And enough information that he was able to fill out a tax form the way it had been filled out for 2007; he went so far as to trek back through bank records and work statements to make sure everything matched up exactly. The only thing missing from it is the date that he wrote when he filed, since he doesn't remember it.

Would all of that be acceptable if we sent it along with the I-864? Would we get an RFE, or would they ask us to bring it to an interview? Any advice at this point is really appreciated. Thank you!

hey Dora, during the year 2008, ur huby shoulda received a statement from the social security administration for the taxed income for his enttire work history. This statement, if he has it, would also be beneficial to prove that he paid taxes, along with the W-2.

most recent tax return (including all schedules and attachements) or IRS transcript is all that is initially required if you are not self employed... previous years total income is recorded on the form but tax returns are not needed to be provided

You do not need to prove you paid taxes but prove you earned at or above a certain level of income

YMMV
