Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

It came to light during the vetting

How did these things get overlooked by the transition team? Somebody wasn't doing their homework.

It was the transition team who noticed Geitner's error in the first place. Geitner rapidly fixed his goof -- which arose because his employer at that time, the World Bank, didn't withhold payroll taxes that we take for granted. So, he didn't pay the employer portion of Social Security taxes. A moral of the story -- if you are a busy professional with even slightly complex taxes, hire someone to do them for you. Even this, though, there may still be errors.

There you go.

Never mind his $35,000. If you or me owed that we would pay penalties.... he didn't

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Now that makes sense.

Yeah... this is still a load of #######. When you work for a UN agency as USC, be it as full-time staff or a consultant, they tell you that you have to take care of your own social security tax. They withhold some of your income and pay your State & Fed directly, and then you are responsible for paying the rest directly to the US treasury on a quarterly basis (or once a year if you can take the hit).

This is not a mistake. It is common knowledge if you are employed by such an agency, and the Americans in the ranks b*tch about it all the time.

i'm sorry, this whole Geitner thing is a real sore spot with me. i think it is #######.

lol

i agree... i was working internationally two years ago. an accountant did my taxes, and months later i found out a mistake was made:

i owed $15, and Uncle Sam sent a letter demanding i pay up.

Sounds like Tim didn't want to pay his 'fair' share. So typical.

Ha, wouldn't mind having a guy in charge of the IRS that makes mistakes and is aware of the treatment he can get.

Our states private employers are taking the state to court on why they should be responsible for employee verification when they are not even provided with the resources to check their employees out. Court delayed the starting date by a month until they can sort it out. Employers that hired illegals can get some very stiff fines from the state, hope they win their case.
