There wasn't much to read in that story, but today we have kids having kids and sadly old people looking after old people....my immediate thought on this was how well was HE taking care of himself? My elderly parents took in my 90yr old grandfather some years ago and I was shocked when i went to visit and saw the deterioration in health of my folks both physically and mentally. The stress of caring for someone is immense and sometimes it takes someone from the outside to look in and say "ok, enough is enough"....within weeks of that visit my grandfather was placed in a home and my parents improved greatly, but pride would never have let them take that route.

Yes, the story is horrific....but a lot is missing too...who knows

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Authorities say an elderly Port St. Lucie woman was so neglected by her son that her never-removed shoes had grown into her feet.

I'm not a Doctor, don't even play one on TV, but I'm pretty sure her feet grew into her shoes. Unless her shoes are somehow sentient. :D

Mox, you rock! That was the first thing that came to my mind when I read the article, lol.
