Today I checked my portfolio on the USCIS website and I found out that my I-485 was touched on January 2nd, 2009 with the current status being the same(Case received and pending). I'm not really exicted about it, it could mean a lot of things (Cleaning the dust of my folder, puting my folder back on the shelf after it been in the floor, my background check is back, maybe send it to Pittsburgh where I will have an interview on the 21st but it would had said tranfered...) I mean just so many things that touch could mean, but who knows with the USCIS. With the prayers of VJ commuty, my family, friends, people who dont even know me and with the grace of God, I will prevail.

Our's was also transferred to CSC. Transferring the case to CSC has nothing to do with where you live, it's based on the work-load on the other center's that handle similar cases, so if one center is backed up, they transfer it to the other to "speed" things up.

Your local office for AOS is Baltimore, Maryland. Vermont was your regional office for the K-1 petition. But being transferred to CSC could mean that the Baltimore office is very backed up, so you will be processed faster at CSC.

And the good thing about being transferred to CSC is that they usually approve your case without an interview. If they determine that you must be interviewed (for whatever reason), they will transfer your case to your local office so they can schedule you for an interview. But this is pretty rare.

We were touched again today, Jan 7th, and still no change of status.

Do people usually see their AOS transferred somewhere? I see what was just posted about going to CSC if the local office is backed up... does that mean that no matter what our papers will be transferred somewhere? Either Seattle or the CSC?

Either way, we don't seem to be going anywhere fast. Lots of other folks who filed at the same time and before have received EAD/AP and several has news of AOS as well. We have a zillion touches, but nothing is changing.

Yes, either they will transfer to your local district office or to one of the centers like CSC or in some cases they may transfer to a center then onto your local office. Looking at people's posts here, it looks like if the case is transferred to CSC, most likely you will not have an interview.....

Yes, your case has to be transferred to your local office or CSC. If they transfer your case to CSC, you will most likely be approved without an interview. The majority of K-1 are sent to CSC, but that depends on your local office and how backed up they are. If they feel that you need to be interviewed, CSC will then transfer the case back to the local office.

You mailed AOS mid-October, so your EAD/AP should have been approved by about mid-January, but you had basically a 2 month delay with the RFE. So you may not get the EAD for another couple of months, or it may come tomorrow, you never know with USCIS.
