Can anyone tell me if I can get a ssn for my spouse and her daughter for filing of income tax? if so will this jeapordize the k3 filing?

No

If you need a number for taxes you will need to apply to IRS for an ITIN to use until they have either an I-766 EAD card or I-551 stamp or card.

My husband got his SS number one week after arriving on a K-1 in California by going down to the local office.

It was a breeze. I would think that K-3 should be the same.

We wanted that number right away.

They need it for everything.

K3 is not the same. They either have to get EAD or GC before they can get SSN. Best if OP files a W7 and gets a ITIN number. I did so for my wife but they wouldn't allow one for my stepdaughter

Oh.....I thought since you are already married on K-3 then they would be easier.

Learn something new all the time on here.

Are they in the US yet? If not, you can apply for an ITIN number for them. Go to IRS.gov and search on ITIN - I think the form is W-7, but not certain. Read the instructions, you have to provide specific documentation.

If they are in the US, you should have gotten shortly after arrival. (We did K-1, so not totally sure on that process.)

Good Luck!
