Just a really simple question.....

If the US were invaded tonight, what actions would you guys take?

I would clean my many guns and form a militia with like minded friends.

Let me clarify:

Say tonight, you're sleeping in your bed, next thing you know you hear explosions off in the distance. You turn on your TV, and hear reports that government buildings and military bases are being attacked by a foreign military power. (Let's just say CHINA based on their size... and status as a UN Security Council member.) Then, your power goes out.

The next day you go to work like normal, but everything is going crazy out there. You get to work only to find out that it's closed, and you're not able to buy gas anymore for your car because the gas station is closed too. You want to get food for your family, but the grocery is closed too. Nothing is open. The only signs of activity around your city are the people who are looting all the stores that are closed.

Then, a few days later, still with no power, the foreign troops are in your city. They're checking for people (like George Washington who have expressed their unwillingness to live under foreign occupation in the past) and then at 3:45 that night, while you shiver in your home (still no power or heat) your door gets kicked in and people are shouting at you in a language you don't understand. They hit you with their weapons and throw you on the floor. They cover your face with a burlap bag and zip-tie your hands together. You can hear your wife and kids screaming and crying.

A few days later, they release you from the "holding camp" that you're in... maybe it's the high school, maybe it's the outdoor parking lot of the local Wal-Mart... you haven't eaten in days, and have no idea where your family and friends are. Finally, you find them at a neighbor's house, and you return home with them and try to get your life back in order.

A few months go by, and life is somewhat back to normal for you. You've gone back to work (although there are several guys who are "missing") and have power sometimes so you can watch the new Chinese news channels that are on your TV now. Most nights you can sleep without hearing an explosion or gunfire. Other nights, you can't.

Several times you've been late to work because the check-point that you have to drive through is crowded and the Chinese soldier working it that day decides that since he doesn't want to be in Podunk, Iowa, anymore that he's going to take it out on all the people coming through. The first person that speaks to him in loud English is getting pulled out of their vehicle and beat with the butt of his rifle. All of this is perfectly acceptable, it's standard practice for anyone showing resistance to be "detained" by any means necessary.

A few more months go by and the neighbor that your wife was staying with while you were in the "holding camp" starts to tell you about a friend of his who is from Podunk, Kansas, and is coming through with several of his buddies and they're going to take out that check-point with the Chinese soldier who misses home, thus opening up the road to Des Moines for anyone who wants to travel freely. (And anyone who wants to get fresh milk, gas, cigarettes, medical supplies, etc. Or even wants to travel to Des Moines to find out if their mother and father are still alive.) And, since your son goes to college their, you decide to make the trip, if there is a sufficient window to safely get out of Podunk.

You hear the explosions, you hear the gunfire, and the next morning, you take what little bit of gas that you have left in your tank, and you haul @$$ through the smoking remains of what used to be a Chinese checkpoint. You make it several miles down the road where you see a sign (written in Chinese) that says STOP. (But you can't tell, cause you don't read Chinese.) You slow down, and the next thing you know, machine gun fire is ripping through your windshield. You stop immediately and are pulled out of your car, beaten, and once again, zip-tied and have that bag back over your head.

A couple weeks go by, and after being "interviewed" by several American and Chinese "officials" you're released to go back to Podunk. You get back to Podunk, but find out now that your job is no longer available because the president has been "detained" and will no longer be able to operate the plant. It was also said that your plant provided materials and support for the check-point attack, so anyone who was working there at the time is now suspect. You start to worry about where food and gas and everything else you're going to need is going to come from. (And you still don't know the status of your son or parents in Des Moines.)

Several of your neighbors have been "detained" by the military forces for questioning, and while they've been away, their houses have been ransacked. Since you're a white family from Podunk, and live in a white neighborhood, you start to notice that there are more and more black families staying there now, who have relocated from a small town just outside of Des Moines known as BFE. These new residents aren't really welcomed by the old ones because well, it's hard enough for white families to get food and gas and find work.... now they've got to share with the black families too? So they start to fight each other. Several have been killed, but no one really gets into any trouble for it, because the Chinese could care less if the Americans want to kill each other.

Those guys from Podunk, Kansas, are back again, and this time they're over in the black neighborhood. The blacks are a little worse off than the whites because they relocated to Podunk after the Chinese were really hard on them in BFE. Most of the young men are gone, but there are several who are still there and are excited by the opportunity the Kansas guys are presenting them with. That opportunity: Go back to BFE and take out some of the Chinese. So, several young men sign up.

While they're gone, the white families notice this. What better time than while the young men are gone fighting the Chinese than to go over to their neighborhood and burn down all of their houses? And if a couple get killed... no big deal, they're just blacks. The Chinese hear about the plan because they've paid a white woman to feed them information on what's happening in her neighborhood, and they stop it before it starts by "detaining" several white men. The other white men find out which woman tipped off the Chinese, and they take turns raping and beating her until she's dead, then hang her from the street light on the busiest intersection in the neighborhood. The blacks notice the naked white woman hanging from the street light, and word spreads quickly that she was killed for snitching to the Chinese and stopping the attack on the black neighborhood. This prompts several black men (and women) to burn down several houses in the white area.

The Chinese and American "police" forces are rather upset at the increasing violence in Podunk, so they increase their foot patrols through the area. This, in turn, sparks more clashes between them and the residents, both white and black, and several more local people are killed. Now, everyone in Podunk knows two or three, or several people who have been killed by the Chinese, the American "police", the whites, the blacks, or who have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time and got caught in a battle between two of the opposing groups.

The people of Podunk are starting to get more and more upset as their neighbors continue to die, and ulitimately, they start to remember the days before the Chinese invasion... the good ol' days. Sure America had problems... but they were our problems, and damn it, it was still the greatest nation on the face of the earth. Well, at least it was... before the Chinese invaded. Hopefully someday they'll leave, and it will be back to that way again. We can only hope. Until then, I don't mind if the boys from Kansas kill a few thousand of their soldiers. Hell, I wouldn't be mad if they killed them all and sent them right back to China. I wouldn't even be mad if one of those Kansas boys took a little trip over to Beijing and rented a truck to drive up next to their big ol' communist building and set off the biggest bomb in the history of the world.

Nope. Woudln't be upset at all. Why not? Cause America was better off before the Chinese invasion.

Very true.

My point with all of this is everyone is saying how bad the terrorists are. If the shoe were on the other foot.... who here would be a "terrorist?"

(Americans have our own shoe sizes though... the rest of the world has different measurements.)

Okay, point taken, but I wouldn't be so happy about a guy from Toronto trying to take advantage of the situation by killing U.S. citizens who are trying to move on and adjust to life under the Chinese either.

That guy from Toronto is killing US citizens who are not like him. (Assuming he's white.)

They're black... maybe they're Latino. Either way, the more of them that get killed, the more the news stations back in China are going to report on the "growing death toll" in America. And, the new Chinese stations in America are going to report on them too, but spin them off as "deaths caused by Canucks" which even the blacks and Latinos will start to disregard because "death by Canuck" never happened before "death by Chinaman."
