hi dear

Yous hould not leave the state until your are done with NVC. the reason I'm saying that because NVC will work very fast and smooth with you. I totally understand you want to be with your husband but don't complicate the case. The post office will not forwaded the mail to you in pakistan because when the nvc or USCIS send a mail and cannot deliver to the same address it will be returned back to them and it will be a delay on your case. Just stay patient and finish what you start and stay on the top of everything. The NVC will need a lot of paper from you and as well from your husband after you pay all AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT, the visa bill etc. If you go to pakistan it will delay the process. I have been waiting 5 years for my husband to get here and I did stay on the top of everything and he is coming soon God Willing. If you do change your address ou have to let NVC know about it. It happens to me before when I changed my address it was a delay on my case. Just hanging there and everything will be fine and you all the alst one who can make decisions. Good luck with everything just keep up with everything

you have time for a vist between NOA1 and NVC, i just would be back and ready to finish the case once it hits NVC , have a friend get your mail, watch the website for approval, call them its not like you will be completely out of contact to know, it will take some months to get to NVC just then at that time be ready to continue from here as it goes quick (around a month) of back and forth, papers returned overnight etc. When you come back bring all the necessary papers with you after his gathering and signing ready to go

YOur own pobox is a very good idea.. Just keep in mind that you must keep up residency here! Otherwise you might have issues with the whole process. It is a good idea for you go see your spouse as much as possible, but be very careful! It is a questionable time for an American woman-man-family to be traveling in this area! Keep your husband at your side ALL the time! Be safe adn let keep us posted! We'll be praying for you!

What if I get a private mail box? It's better than a po box to deal with over-sized mail (or anything in a package basically)...and they forward mail to any international address I choose....for a modest fee of course. They email you when you receive mail and accept mail from all and any carriers. It think it's our best bet really...not all that expensive either...depending on how long I use it. But still....I still can't shake the worry.....what if my going for 2 months does complicate everything? I'm kind of confused now because everyone is saying something different......does it take a couple of months....or half a year? Or shorter? after filing the i130 how long would it take to get te noa2?

hichoufy:

The post office will not forwaded the mail to you in pakistan because when the nvc or USCIS send a mail and cannot deliver to the same address it will be returned back to them and it will be a delay on your case.

Same address as what? Couldn't I put a different mailing address then my resident address in the i130?

Yous hould not leave the state until your are done with NVC. the reason I'm saying that because NVC will work very fast and smooth with you

Would it? As much as I hope so.....why do you think so. I would be really happy to receive my noa2 in a month or less from filing...lol.

If I used a private mailbox to get and forward my mail to me....wouldn't I be able to stay in Paki for longer, if not the entire time since I would not be showing that I am in Paki technically? Seeing as I would be using the private mailing address to receive mail couldn't I just receive and mail things out from paki whenever I needed to? I could mail things by just placing my return address as the private one....I would be doing that anyways once I buy it.

The only issue I see with the idea is that if I buy it for like 6 months or 12 months...and god I hope not....if my process takes longer than that time, where would the mail go and how would I change my mailing address so I could receive the mails? But that could be cured if I just rented it out for more time...

Also, does the mailing address have to be the same as the domicile/resident address your living at, or can it be different? Where in the form would I put that if it were different....because I think they only ask for the resident address....I don't remember seeing anything for the mailing address if it were different?

read others timelines it takes months to be completed

11/21/2008 CASE COMPLETE

except your may not have the delay of going to california and i had no problems at NVC it was right at 9 months between filing and NVC receives you get nothing but the approval notice in the mail a friend can do that part for you (unless they require more infor) then you would need to know asap and answer any questions they have for you. Once at NVC there are papers that go back and forth, things he would be gathering for YOU to send, things he needs to sign etc. so visit a while have him sign and bring things back ready to go, this is also where more moeny will need to be paid
