thank you all very much :)

Just a heads up to those of you with interview dates in the pipeline, when I went to the fiirst window he asked me to fill in this form also

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/79964.pdf

said it was something new they had recently introduced. I missed some bits out like phone numbers for former employees as I am useless at remembering phone numbers. Luckily having my I129-f copy actually came in useful for finding Charley's phone number!

Charley arrives at 7am in the morning so we have a week visiting relatives and fly out on the 28th

Woooooooooo! Grats, Talyss! I'll save that file as well and practice several times so I can get it spot-on... O.o :: Paranoid ::

Magpie.

/edit: By the way, I looked at the form and lol'd. I technically could put a tribe name down (the Indian side of the family are all part of the Rajput tribe/clan) but I think it would be a bad idea to do that for the lulz.

By the way, where it says on the form about all the countries you visited in the last ten years...that's been a lot. If I'm unsure of the year and such and what countries I visited, will they hold that against me? I mean, let's see, last ten years...

1999

2000

2001

2002

2003

2004

2005

2006

2007

2008

^ A LOT. I can remember the countries I visited in that period, but I don't think I can name a specific year...I suppose I could be a bit more certain of the last five years, but before that?

Help please @_@.

Once again, congrats Talyss!

The form they had you fill out is an updated version of the DS-157.

So is this the one to be filled out when sending in the packet 3 info (DS-157 for males)?

I am wondering why they asked you to fill out this form...did you fill the older version out before when you sent in the packet 3 response?

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Our last summer P3 instruction letter said of DS-157: to be completed by all male applicants age 16-45 and all female applicants age 16 and over who hold a passport from China, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Russia, Sudan, or Syria. It was to be mailed in with the other DS forms.

Looking at the previous and the updated 1/2009 they are virtually identical. The only difference is Question 15. The new form has added the column titles Name of Country, Branch of Service......etc. The older one just says If yes please include name of country, branch of service, rank/position.... So it looks like they just gave you columns with those same things to make it neater.

So unless Talyss is male or has a passport from those countries, they must have decided for all applicants to fill it out.

Magpie, I don't think it's a test you need to take at the embassy.

I'll save that file as well and practice several times so I can get it spot-on... O.o :: Paranoid ::

Just fill out the online form, print, and take it with you. Then if they hand it to you, you can say, "I've already done it" and give them the printout. Maybe they haven't updated their instructions, so are handing them out until they make it clear they want it submitted with the other DS forms.

Congratuations Talyss. How soon before you head over to the US?

No I had not filled out the DS157 previously. He didn't give ay explanation as to why he wanted me to fill it out, just said that it was something new they had started doing.

Thanks Nich-Nick :) I am flying on the 28th of Feb, wedding is planned for the 10th March.

I am happy to say I am all packed apart from the stuff that needs to go in the big suitcase that Charley is bringing over, so we have a week of relative relaxation before I go.

So I am multi posting the same info on threads to update everyone, but I finally have my duplicate Australian Police Check. Its such a poor cousin to the UK one. Its just a piece a paper. Any way I called the courier service but after talking with AN IDIOT I found out they won't pick up the phone in that department till Monday, so I am planning on flying back Wednesday 4 March.
