First time poster here!

Hi All:

I got an interview letter from USCIS asking me to appear for AOS interview along with my wife on the 21st if January, 2009. My wife was pregnant (until day before yesterday :-)) and her due date was awfully close to the interview date. Hence, I made an infopass appointment and was advised by the officer to send USCIS field office in Atlanta a letter requesting a postponement of the interview to a later date. He also mentioned that USCIS will not be accommodating in terms of working out the date with me and the interview could be postponed to a date based on their whim. Taking this advice, I sent a letter (with return receipt/delivery confirmation requested) to USCIS asking for postponement along with a letter from my wife's OB-GYN indicating the due date of her delivery. It so happened that my wife gave birth to our baby a month early and now it seems like we can indeed make it for the interview. So, now how do I communicate again with USCIS stating that I CAN attend the interview on the originally scheduled date (1/21/2009) and that they ignore my request for postponement?

Since USCIS is rather customer unfriendly I would appreciate if someone can enlighten me about a way out of this.

Thanks,

Karthik

Thanks for your suggestion.
