We just received our NOA2 a couple days ago! I am flying down to see my fiancee in Peru in less than two weeks. Accordingly, I am scrambling to prepare as much stuff as I can to help her be prepared for the embassy interview.

Here are my questions:

1) The K-1 guide says to prepare an I-134 Affadavit of Support to give to her. However, I read elsewhere on VJ that Packet 3 from the Peruvian Embassy will include a blank I-864 form. Any idea which one I should prepare in advance? Also, do I fill out two forms - one for her and one for her daughter?

2) It also said that Packet 3 would contain a blank "Form 179." Any idea what that form is or where I could get my hands on a copy?

Happy Holidays!

K visas use the I-134 form. Be sure to download the new one that needs no Notorization.

Is this true? I can't find anything verifying this and the USCIS site on that page for the form still indicates notarization is necessary.

According to this link:

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

It reads:

Where to File :

To file this form, it needs to be sworn to or affirmed by a USCIS Officer at any USCIS Office, by a notary public, or other official authorized to administer oaths for general purposes. If the sponsor is outside the United States, the affidavit must be sworn to or affirmed by a USCIS Officer or Consular Officer at any U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

Once the form is affirmed, it should be mailed to the same USCIS office where the application was filed.

I would be happy if it was true that it was no longer necessary to have notarization but can't find anything confirming it. Any advice is very much appreciated! Thanks!
