Ok, so we filed for my wive's 10yr GC in Oct. '08. Her 2yr GC expires on 12/30/08. She had her biometrics early Nov. Anyway, it's obvious that the 10yr GC will not be approved before her current GC expires so is she suppose to just walk around with an expired GC while we wait for the 10yr GC to show up or is there some way to get a temporary extension until the new card shows up?

Before her biometrics, did she received the NOA extension letter? this extend her GC for 1 more year. If she didn't receive it (some never receive it), she can do an infopass to go to her local office and get what it's called a I-551 stamp on her passport which extends her residence for 1 year.

It is also important that you keep your original NOA as this is your "new" Green Card until you are approved. If you travel or leave the house this should be with you at ALL times. According to the staff where we had our biometrics completed a copy is not acceptable.

Hi to all!

I am preparing my documents for the removal of the conditions on my residency.I wonder if you can help me guys.I don't have a middle name This is my problem. In Philippines,we usually put our mothers maiden name if asked about middle names right, that is what we usually do but here in U.S. its different people usually have middle names so when I got married I changed my last name into my Husband's.Part 1 of I-751 I put my maiden surname as my middle name now in part 4,it says, other names used, what do I put in there?Example, my maiden name is LUISA SORIANO BANDOY (SORIANO IS MY MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME)I put BANDOY in Part 1 as my middle name since I'm married now.Should I put it like this in Part 4 LUISA SORIANO BANDOY or LUISA BANDOY?Please help me guys Im just really confused and don't want to make mistake on my application.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your replies. Yes, we have the NOA but we didn't realize that would serve as the extension. Now we know.

Lenlen, my wife is in the situation (Pinay) and we just used her first name and her surname by marriage (my last name). We did this on everything: SSA, DL GC, everything! And so far we have not had any problems. Good luck.
