Today, I received the green card. Thanks be to God so that I can take driver's license exam and hopefully find a job. We'll its kinda hard to look for a job this time but im not losing my hope. God has a great plans for me and for my family/

Now, I am jealous!

Congrats! The GC isn't really required to apply for driver's license or to get a job but it does help ease the insecurities. I haven't got ours and looks like we will be waiting until January yet. Oh well, as long as it will come before the one year expiration as stated in the visa.

wow that is so fast! all i know u have to recieved SSN first before GC,they must have to send u welcome note or letter before u have ur green card...

SSN for you to transact with everything like bank,get a job...so on and so fort....

then welcome note for GC,because i just had my GC today it's really a card stating PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD (card heading)....

so that's great if u have in a few days or weeks.....

i got my SSN 13 days prior to my entry then almost 1 1/2months for my GC...

well congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!

I already have my SSN 10 days after i arrived here...thanks alot...merry christmas
