What Happens When 90 Days Passes & Still No EAD?

Just wanted to say not to give up, guys! Although it took forever to get EAD and AP, our AOS was approved in 4 months, which is pretty good I think.

Also, depending on what type of employment you are applying for, I see no reason why you can't start interviewing for jobs now as long as they know you are still awaiting EAD. If the card production has been ordered but the card isn't in your hand yet, it will be soon. My husband did this and it was a good thing, because his company required a background check which took a couple of weeks.

Thanks for your reply. I just tried to make an InfoPass appointment and surprise, surprise "there are no information appointments available for the office in your area" <deep, heavy, totally fed up sigh>.

What?! That is weird... especially in Atlanta!

Try again... i hate it when their website is down!

Nope, no luck. 'Service on a case already filed' then 'EAD inquiry' causes it to fail right away. If I chose something less 'severe' like case status check up then it carries on as normal and asks for my details. I can only assume that all the current appointment slots with Immigration Officers are taken or their short staffed or something and that all they have are slots with non-IO customer service people.

As I understand it, they add appointments into the future at the start of each working day so I guess if I try again tomorrow morning, I should get one, probably in about a month

I've written to the ombudsman though so hopefully they'll come through for us.

Hi AlHayatZween.

I am glad that I saw your post. I am also worried with my renewal of EAD. I am working right now however; my EAD is good until Jan 23. This coming Monday is the 90th days of processing so I am thinking of calling the USCIS on Tuesday.

I noticed that you and other members mentioned about Interim EAD. What exactly it is? Does it mean that if I cannot received my EAD on 23rd, I can request for Interim EAD and I can still continue to work? Are they going to give us a proof stating that we are still allowed to work by using the Interim EAD?

All response are appreciated! God bless us all!
