Technically speaking you don't need any qualifications to be a public official.

What ever happened to the concept of it being a, Peoples Government?

Certainly the Kennedy's are not "salt of the earth" type folks but I have never been convinced a candidate need a political pedigree to be effective.

It's funny how Sarah Palin was considered not fit to even sit in the back-up seat yet Obama who has certainly not more experience is already expected to be the best Prez we have had since FDR

(Liberals always use FDR as the bench mark).

The crucial difference between obama and palin isn't experience - she's ignorant, he isn't.

And noone can say how effective obama will be until he takes office. Perhaps he will be a good president, perhaps not - it doesn't really matter. I fully expect he'll be disappointing in some respects - the issue is surely that on the basis of the campaigns the American people decided he was the best man for the job.

i think what he's getting at is how so many made light of palin's "lack of qualifications" yet not a word is said by the same people about caroline.

Maybe that is what he was referring to. That doesn't make my point any less valid.

And 'being a Kennedy' isn't small potatoes. She's at least going to know who the players are, and how to conduct herself in public.
