My fiance arrive about a week and a half ago. He is having great tooth ache pain and pills are not working. I want to take him to see a dentist, but I know it is expensive. What I was wondering is does anyone know how insurance can be recieved since he is not a citizen yet? If anyone could help me out or give me links that would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou so much!

the bills can be charged directly to you unless you have an insurance from work. Either way, my brother's fiance now his wife who didn't have an sss yet was admitted to the hospital for days and they said bills will be charged even when you have to pay the minimum which is $15 a month, they can't do anything about the bills people need to be cured..here in U.S. hope that helps.

That made me confused. The insurance I have is a really good one which I get full coverage for everything because I did not make much at my job. If this was happening to me and I was to go to the dentist I would have to play nothing because my insurance covers it all. I am not sure what you mean it would be charged to me? I am going to call my insurance company and ask when I become married if I can add my fiance to my plan because were are married even though he is not a legal citizen yet. I did not understand what you ment though so I am still lost

The tooth might possibly be excluded if any of the policies you buy limit pre-existing conditions, so read carefully. These are the 3 sites I've seen recommended around VJ. I can't vouch for them as I haven't gotten that far in my process just yet. Best of luck, and I hope his tooth pain is handled swiftly!

If he needs dental care now, you should call around to some local dentists offices or health clinics. They can refer you to a dental clinic that serves the uninsured and a sliding scale fee schedule.

He doesn't need to be a citizen to get insurance. He can get it on his own (individual policy or through employment) or once you're married you can add him to your insurance. He may need a SSN to be added, but the people in your HR or benefits office can help you out.
