Just to make a comment,

I'm happy for those people that got a little help from their Senator or Congressman. Mine did me no favors! Even with a big screw up from USCIS, I'm still waiting. It's gonna be 6 months in just a day or two. ofcoarse with an RFE, I fully expect them to take the whole 60 day response time.

Just wonderful how the increase in fee's has improved the service don't you think?

Kevin,

What did your senator/congressman do?

"caseworker" for the congressman.......when she saw the 2 RFE's one that obviously did not apply to our case, but had our case numbers and names on it as petitioner and beneficiary, she seemed very concerned. Within 4 days, had a response from her, that our case had just been submitted to the Adjudicator......(turns out to be the day before I went to see the congressman). She sent me an email stating "it is traditional to give them 30 days when they receive the case). I got ticked off, but was polite in my response saying that if I were to give them 30 days, that would be 5 days past the 60 they all ready told me about in the RFE.

She responded with well that is common, it may not take the 30 days, but it is "customary" as she stated.

The next email was not so pleasant.

Such as I pay my tax's, You work for me, and my application fee was paid! They screwed up, I waited 45 days before I even came to you, Called Hotline half a dozen times, even updated an address, with absolutely no touch's on my file. I told her that I came to you because they screwed up, and since no one at USCIS call center wants to here the situation, but rather give me the "song and dance" about waiting the 60 days, this is why I came to you. So that you can make sure that their mistake is not holding up my approval.

no email response.......and trust me, I wasn't nice!

I did however receive a phone call the next day, and she told me that she called them again, and they assured her that this "erroneous" RFE, would be removed from my file by early this week.

Got a call today from her. It had been removed, and that the case was being adjudicated based on the evidence submitted. Still folks, no touch's no nothing.......so don't count on the government..........their to busy running a car company!

Are you in Texas?

I ask, with hopes that my senator's office won't treat me like yours did you.

I agree. Its horrible how some people have to wait so much longer then others. My heart goes out to those that have had to wait over the 6 month mark...in some cases even much, much longer. I hope you all get yours before the 6 months and that you don't have to go through trying to get outside help.

I called my Senator's office. Turns out they already made an inquiry on my behalf with USCIS. I asked how long it takes to get a response and he said it averages 30 days!

I hope he was just telling me that and that it doesn't actually take that long to get a response.

This is probably only because they have a backlog of people inquiring. But really this takes like 2 seconds. They email the USCIS and they get back to them in less than an hour. They just must have a loooooot of people inquiring. Call your congressman or assemblyman now.
