Question about financial proof for those who have had their interviews

Did you submit 1 year tax transcript, 3 years or other? Curious as to how many people only showed the last years tax return/transcript and still got approved. Thanks

we submitted 3 yr tax returns, bank letter, and bank statements. My motto in HCMC was give them anything that they could ask for.

I actually had 4 years of tax returns because I submitted 3 years' worth with the I-129f (even though it is not required), and by the time the interview took place, another tax year had rolled around.

It was at that point I discovered some errors in my original I-134, so I submitted a new one to the consulate.

All of that worry was for naught, they didn't look at any of it. In fact, they didn't look at anything I submitted after the original 1-129f.

And one more interesting thing--the 3 years I submitted were joint returns with my ex-wife. I guess they didn't care. I guess they believed I had a job.

I had an interview about a week ago, and I only submitted last year's tax return.

I think what matters is if the yearly earning meets the required amount they are asking for. The amounts are listed on the VISA instructions sent from the consulate.

I ended up doing 4 years as well.

At our interview, they looked at a w2 or 1099 i had for one year, said the amount on the w2 or 1099 was not enough and blue/green slipped us. they just looked at a single w2/1099. Even though i made well over the guideline amount, because my wife did not know what to do, how to respond, we got blue slipped.

my point, explain to your wife the tax system/process here. make sure she can identify a 1040, w2, 1099. make sure she knows what those are... that are not just tax paperwork.

Since i make well over the poverty limit, shouldnt a tax transcript be sufficient since it includes 1040 and 1099's? Thanks

No, I just brought my 1040, 1099, and W2. I didn't submit an IRS Transcript. We had no issues with finances.

You should submit the tax transcript from IRS of the current year and the last 2 years. Do you have package 4 yet?

You should check in package 4, they guided very details.

The W2 form is only for reference.

At least 3, if you didn't work last year, Write a letter explain why (got laid off, back to school, freelancing, in between jobs, changing job etc)

Explain it to them in detail, in a letter, not part of your filing document!
