I know you guys are discussing racism and what not, but can anybody think of a good reason why we shouldn't have relations with Cuba? Is all of this just a hold over from antiquated policy from our anti-comunism days?

If the Castro brothers are the reason for continuing the current policy, isn't that really for the Cuban people to decide and change? Are we doing more harm to the Cuban people by continuing these policies?

Thanks for returning us to the point of the thread.

Yes, this is yet another shot in the arm at the Cold War. Of course, some of those folks will b!tch about illegals coming here while they should be home changing the economies they have at home (and its none of our concern) while not squinting that we have to do a regime change in Cuba via an embargo that ironically also sends illegals our way that benefit from a different set of immigration laws also based on an old Cold War mentality.

It is out of date and hurting the people. My only problem is the fact that he was willing ot let the Russians park nukes there. It was a long time ago, but........

While we got off relatively clean in Turkey. Its a 2 lane highway this thing called a Cold War that ended such a long time ago in earnest.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I agree. I was in a Field Artillery Unit in Germany. I was amazed to find out that we had tactical nukes there. I thought that was kind of hypocritical. They did only have a range of 27 miles though.

the range is what made them tactical.

Plus the warheads are really tiny compared to strategic nukes... Not that I'd like to fizz two critical halves of a tactical nuke in my lab or anywhere within 30 miles of where I'm at.

I understand that. Just having them in Europe was what I found hypocritical.
