Im from rural Alberta, and dont have a physical address, other than a legal land description and a range road number. Has anyone else run into this problem and what did you give for a physcial address? Thanks!!

How would you address it if you needed something delivered from the post office?

YMMV

Hello ChalnBritt! Welcome to VJ! As payxibka has stated, just put down on the form what your current mailing address is.

There are many Can/American couples who have been through this process.

Along with reading the Guides above to help you along the way, we also have a Canada Forum here on VJ that has posted topics about specific parts of the journey you'll want to get information on. If you're in Alberta, one thing you'll need to know is that your Consulate that you'll have your interview at , is in Vancouver, which is normally a much faster Consulate as far as timelines go!

Check us out here:

All the best for a speedy journey!

If you do not have a physical address then now is the time to do the research through your local government agency to obtain an address. Here in the US this process is governed by the state or county government...it will be different for every state. In Georgia...you have to go to some type of land development office...I think it is the Building Department and ask to be issued an address. Then you take that address and register it with the post office. The best place for you to start would probably be there. I would recommend first calling your local post office in your country and asking how to obtain and register an address. Good Luck!

I'm not doubting what you're saying as true...but I've truly never heard of this at all in Canada! She/he has a RR number. That's a "physical" address in Canada. A "physical" address is just the place you get your mail at. If all you put on an envelope is a RR number, with postal code for that area, that's all that's needed.
