Yes... tomorrow is the big day! In all honesty I have been in California all week for a conference, have just got back and need to pull all my paperwork together. I am fairly confident that I know the stuff for the civics exam but the whole process is still a little daunting. Just trusting in the Lord to get me through like He has so far!

Well my interview is done and dusted! Here is a brief summary:

Arrived twenty minutes early and was called in after about 30 seconds of waiting. I barely had time to pick a magazine off the rack.

The IO asked to see my passport and GC and then swore me in.

He went through my N400 and verified all the information was correct. He didn't ask to see any evidence and he already had my photos in a ziploc bag so the two I had taken this morning will wait for my passport!

He then administered the civics test. My questions were:

1) What is the longest river in the US?

2) Who is the speaker of the house?

3) For how many years does a president serve in one term?

4) When was the declaration of independence adopted?

5) Who lived in America before the Europeans?

6) What do we collectively call the first 10 amendments to the constitution?

I was then asked to read "How many senators are there?" and then write "We have 100 senators."

That was it. As the CIS have been so incredibly fast this time around, they were unable to approve me on the spot as my three year anniversary is not until next week so they have to wait until that date to approve me in their system. Otherwise they said everything was in order, congratulated me and said I would receive my oath letter within 1 month.

I was in the Federal building less than 11 minutes. I left before my interview was even scheduled to begin!

I hope everyone else has it as easy as I did!

Wow! That sounds like a breeze! If mine is going to be only half as easy, I'll be very happy. I guess he even didn't go over your application with you.

Congratulations!!!! :dance::star::dance::star::dance::star:

Ptrober, you've set a good example to us all. I hope all of us will be blessed like you. Stella08, thanks for your concern. I guess I will have the same experience as Ptrober did since my 3 years anniversary is March 20. :star:

Congratulations!

Well that makes me feel a little positive then - since my 3 year anniversary is about 7 days before my interview... so fingers crossed! wow is time ever flying.

One down side - i will have an extra trip to add to my form, I was out of the country for a few days last week... just to de-stress and get my head clear... plus use up some airmiles lol

Its not going to affect anything - but it does add a little modification to the file lol

Man when I came back into the USA was i ever glad i was going to be a citizen soon - can you beleive they would not let me join the citizens/residents line? they insisted that now residents must join the "visitors" line! talk about sloooooooooooooooow... compare that to travelling back within europe where it was enough to just flash my passport and be welcomed back with no questions... but here... to come back home here and be asked why am i entering the USA??? lol "erm i'm coming home, if you'll look at that greencard i gave you then you'd see that" lol

Thank god citizenship is just around the corner... another passport to add to my collection lol

Lets just say - I'm welcome in many places... lol

@ jamieswith

How many passports do you have?

I guess I'm the only one who filed for citizenship late. I have been married for almost 15 years and I have been a LPR for almost ten...
