Hello,

I'm in the K-1 process now and my girlfriend asked me a question that I could not answer, so I was hoping someone here could.

After she comes here, we marry, becomes a US citizen sometime down the road, can she petition for her mother and stepfather to come here? Most importantly her stepfather, since its not her real father.

Thank you for any replies.

yes, but the citizenship process only begins at about 3 years after she receives LPR status (assuming still married to the USC).

YMMV

She can file for them once she becomes a US citizen. She can definitely file for her mother and can only file for her stepfather if they marriage took place before your wife turned 18 years-old.
