hi everyone, well we (my fiance and i) have been talking and trying to see whats the fastest way for her to travel to the US. i know everyone wants this but this was just a an idea that we had because i have seen fast approvals on a I-130.

well i already sent out the I-129f packet last month and we are waiting like everyone else, but im traveling in the end of december to visit my fiance, i know if we get married it will mess the whole I-129f process and would have to start over again. i remember i saw a really fast approval in one of the members I-130, and would that mean that his spouse can travel i assume after an interview? so if i get married, is it worth it in order to get my spouse here faster? i know that a pro is that when she travels we dont need to do change of status.....and if i do this, and then change to a I-130 whats the difference in process and what happens to the $455 that i spent? is the I-130 faster than I-129? we dont have an interest to have a big wedding we only want to be together.....i know that is a K3 visa, is it easier to do the K4 for my step-daughter? thanks in advance

The fiance visa is generally up to a couple months faster than any spouse visa. If you get married in December and file an I-130 I would expect you to be very disappointed with the results in terms of timeline. You're already on the fastest route.

You only paid for the I-130, the 129 is free. I was faced with the same dilima, and I decided to just stick with the I-130 because my husband wont have to adjust status once he's in the United States, and if you're trying to pinch pennies, well, the I-130 process will save you money because you wont have to pay (I think $1,000 and some dollars) to adjust status. Sometimes the I-130 goes through faster than the 129, sometimes it doesnt. I think that it's a personal decision

The OP isn't married. He filed only an I-129F for a K1 visa process. He's asking if it would be quicker to get married two months later and start over again with an I-130. The answer is "no".
