We're planning on applying my Adjustment of Status after our 2yrs wedding anniversary Feb next year-we've been only here in the US for 7 weeks,we're K3 & K4 holder.Is it true that if you file the AOS after 2yrs of marriage,you will be issued a Permanent Residence Status(green card) Or still temporary and still needs for removal?How true or false is this?Anyone here does the same thing?

It does not matter when you file the AOS, when it is approved you will receive a Permanent Resident Card (Status)... The only difference is the expiration date....

I woould love to get a Permanent and not only temporary card that needs another lifting.But either way-we want the approval..Thanks!

when did you get married?

if you wanna get a 10 years without lifting, you can apply 4-5 months before your 2nd anniversary. the Aos process usually takes between 5 month to one years ( depends on your area). you can apply for EAD alone (I-765) now if you wanna work ( takes about 3 months) and when your 2nd anniversary approaches you can apply I-485. that's what a lot K-3 do if they don't wanna go through another hassle of getting condition lifting. good luck.

12/05/12 case completed......finally ( Could haven't save 2 month of time if everything was ready be fore case# was assigned)

02/04/13 docs intake at guz. 02/05/13 interview passed. 3 simple questions asked

02/08/13 visas arrived at home ( that was fast. 3 days through ems. Right before Chinese new year )

02/16/13. Coming to u.s.a!!!!!! Yeah.

why dont you apply now and you will see atleast you save the fee fore lifting conditions

Got married Feb 2007,been here in the US for 7 weeks.Whether we apply now or after the ann,we'd still have to pay the AOS fee,and we're already looking at $22 hundreds here since i have 2 kids..whew!
