I just want a TV that works properly.. I don't care if it is HD or not :P

I felt the same way for the longest time....figured I'd wait it out until the HDTV's would drop in price. We found a 32" last year around this time and it's been a nice treat for us. :) We also got a home theater system for dirt cheap (Best Buy) so it's like having our own theater at home. Together it was still less than my computer.

Analyst Riddhi Patel of ISupply forecasts that prices of 47-inch liquid crystal display models will go as low as $800, 42-inch plasma sets to $500 and 32-inch LCDs to $400.

Damn. And to think that I paid more than $3,000 for mine, only two years ago!

They saw you coming! :o

I've never put myself through Black Friday, but may just have to this year. We'd like a 42" LCD, but maybe a plasma if the deals are really that good.

Just some advice - plasma TV's give off a lot of heat...a lot. Some people claim they give off as much heat as a furnace.

I'm in New England and it is only in the 20's now. If I can use the TV to heat my house, I can turn off the furnace and save enough on oil to buy the TV. I think I can sell the idea to the wife.

You can also get a monitor/TV tan. Just be careful going outside when you turn green. :P
