Hi everyone this is my first post I am really new to the site and I hope I am posting in the right place if not please let me know. Ok anywaz, here is the problem, My husband went to get his immunizations on Tuesday, They gave him everything, I can't even name them all, Today he had to go back for them to check the TB, it was positive. We have a lawyer, we were trying to get everything in order before we applied for his papers which would have been next week. Does anyone know if this will negativly affect us?? I haven't yet called the lawyer because I am soo scared. Please any advice thanks

if the skin test comes back positive then they will do follow on testing because the skin test does produce an occasional false positive.... most likely a chest x-ray. If the chest xray confirms the presence of TB then he will be treated...

Positive TB is not grounds for deportation...

YMMV

People who previously had the TB imunization have a positive TB skin test. Only the xray says for sure if it is positive.

while it is not grounds for deportation can it be grounds for denying the spousal visa

I was told not. It can be and will have to be treated if after an xray TB is positive. Many people I talked to before my TB test told me they tested positive including the doctor that gave me my shots. He said it is quite common - So coming from the doctor who also immigrated here after testing positive that should be reassuring.

Hope that helps alittle.

send him home from where? is here in the USA?

sending him home would be called deportation.... and as I said before, TB is not grounds for deportation...

Hi, I had the same situation as your husband,my TB test is positive, then they asked me to go to their designated place (XRA Medical Imaging)to take the Xray for my chest to further confirm. After 2 days, the XRA sent the report for my chest to the doctor's office where I took my vaccinations. The report showed I don't have TB,then the doctor signed and sealed the form I needed. Don't worry, it will be fine, just double confirm you have TB or not. B)
