Does spouse attend the interview?

I am getting my citizenship through marriage. Does my hubby have to attend the interview? I thought so but the interview appointment letter I received doesnt say anything about that. They are not asking me to bring anything either (except for the originals of the document I already sent). Is that normal?

Thanks for any info,

Claudia

Usually they don't. But reading from this post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry2409111 it seems like a good idea to take your spouse with you.

It's not mandatory but it helps. I have a friend who went for his last year and they had a ton of questions for him that some of them he couldn't answer. He had to go back a couple of months later with his wife to interview again.

It is not mandatory, but it is recommended.

It is for moral support, and prepared for just in case.

In very rare case, they ask US citizen spouse to verify whether he/she is real person or not.

Also, you may check here to prepare for just in case.

http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=288288

USCIS doesn't give you the info what they will ask during the interview.

They can ask whatever, and if you can not provide satisfactory answer right away, they can hold your case until you provide the answer they want.

So it's better having over-prepared than hearing "sorry, we can not make the decision at this time because you don't have this and that information."

I recommend that you go through N400 what you did submit, and reviewing from USCIS officer's viewpoint.

I wanted my hubby to stay home with our baby. Do they take babies into the interview room? Hope so because we dont have anywhere to leave him.

Probably your hubby needs to wait in waiting room area while your interview is conducting.

But if interview officer wants to see your hubby, you can open the door, and say "Honey! Come here!"
