Hi Everyone,

How long does it typically take to receive your Biometrics Appt letter? I've seen a range from one week from NOA1 and others, watiting a month or more? It's been about 2 1/2 weeks for me, but just curious if it could have gotten lost or placed in the wrong mailbox? Will calling the USCIS help to find the status of the letter?

Thanks!

Mine took a little over two weeks, and the appointment was two weeks out then.

Good luck, you should be getting it soon!

The wait time varies so widely. I received my first NOA in 4 days after mailing my I751, I was so confident I'd get the biometrics appointment quickly too but its been about 3 weeks and I haven't received it yet. I need to travel out the country, I don't know if I should go and reschedule the appointment. I called USCIS but all I was told is if you haven't received it in 30 days then call back, another rep said 45 days. I'm so confused. Has anyone rescheduled a biometrics appointment? How easy/difficult was it?

It took us 2 weeks to get NOA. The biometrics followed right after. Had them done almost exactly a month after submission.

Our NOA1 was dated 9/2/08. We still have not received a biometrics letter. We did an infopass appt after 32 days. I tried calling to no avail. They did the biometrics at the infopass appt and he was nice enough to show us our case status on the system. It had a "Supervisory Hold" on it. No idea why unless it was the cashier's check. He said he would have the supervisor there look into it. We did however get the number for the CRI89 as the NOA1 number is not accessible online. We still have not heard anything and it has been 72 days since the NOA1 date. I have called the guy several times and called the 800 number. The last time on the 800 number I whined enough that he gave me to a supervisor who at least activated the CRI89 number so that I could see the status online. It showed a last updated date of 10/27/08 which is about the time he activated it. My husband is not worried, but I am concerned.

For those that do not know, the CRI89 number is the receipt number on the Biometrics letter. The NOA1 receipt number does not work online, only the CRI89 number does.

At 2.5 weeks, I would not be overly concerned. At 31 days, I would call or better yet do an infopass appt.

Good luck, we all need it during this journey.

I had biometrics done after the 1st AOS before the actual greencard 2 years ago....so I guess we all have to do it again for the 2nd card? Seems silly to me but hey the whole thing is a pain in the butt.

Too bad the place is so far away for us, 6 hrs sucks.

The fingerprints "expire" after a certain length of time, and it's a different process, so they are making sure that the same person is applying for each step of the way.

For those that do not know, the CRI89 number is the receipt number on the Biometrics letter. The NOA1 receipt number does not work online, only the CRI89 number does.

Thanks for posting this; I've been checking the online status with the NOA1 receipt number - thanks for preventing further waste of time.
