The appointment time was for 2pm and we got there at 1:30pm, thirty minutes prior as the appointment letter states. At 2:40pm I went to the interview where I was asked questions about my N-400. I was asked why I was out of the country so many days (8 months in a row), it was because I was married to a service member under offical orders. I gave them a copy of the orders and they were satisfied. I was asked 5 questions from the 100 that came with the guide to naturalization. The interviewer read a sentence aloud and I had to write down what they said. They asked for more current tax documents but as I have yet to file my taxes for this year I didn't have them. They said it was okay and that everything looked good a pased me. There was also a second USCIS officer in the room as a witness during the interview.

Overall the woman who interviewed me was nice and the whole process went better than expected.

Other notes/things I overheard while waiting (For people going to Fairfax Office):

They no longer do same day or next day swearing in and if like me you live in another city the swearing in will be done in your local area. The wait for the swearing in could be two weeks to three months but you should get a letter notifying you of a date a least two weeks prior to the appointment.

Some people in the office waited for 2-3 hours but it seemed to me that not everyone was doing naturalization some may have been doing Green Card or other interviews.

Hope this helps and I will write back when I get my interview letter so you may have some idea of the time.

Via email, as I applied under 319b to the Fairfax office, my interview has been scheduled for March 3.

There was some concern that my application hadn't been fully processed, but now they've scheduled me, so lets hope all goes well!!

well, my case has been unusual in that i applied from overseas under 319b.

i had to submit fingerprints with application (no biometrics appt) and i never received the NOA1. via email i received an interview date of march 3.

lomeshp let's hope that is the case. Looks to be very random though. Couple of posters in immigration.com forums were lucky to have oath on the same day. For some others that is not the case. Moving to the new USCIS office in Irving unfortunately was a setback for us as it has piled up lot of backogs for oath ceremony. Looks like lot of people from Nov and Dec are still waiting for their oath. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they clear all of them by the time we get around. Good luck.

For those of you going through Dallas, I've seen some post on other sites where they are saying, if you are not doing a nama change you can do Oath same day. Wil find out in a couple of weeks :D

I got the notice for my rescheduled interview - April 7th. Pleasantly surprised by the response (about one month) from Hartford and NBC. All the notices were mailed from Missouri although I wrote/mailed request to Hartford.

N-400

11-07-08 Mailed application to VT

11-20-08 NOA1 from NBC in Missouri

12-06-08 Biometrics

01-24-09 recieve appointment for 3/25 interview

01-25-09 Mailed letter to Hartford requesting new interview date (away on 3/25 at brother's wedding)

02-12-09 Recieve letter from NBC stating they have recieved my request for new interview date

02-21-09 Recieve letter for interview on April 7th. Hartford's got it's act together!

05-08-09 Oath ceremony in New Haven CT

Removal of Conditions

11-28-07 Mailed I-751 to VT

12-12-07 NOA (date-12-07-07)

01-10-08 Biometrics Appt

10-30-08 Approval letter (dated 10-27-08-approved!). Zero touches prior to letter
